Each day at Summer Camp at Devil's Gulch Ranch starts with doing the daily farm chores. We milk the goats, feed the pigs and sheep, tend to the garden, and take care of the horses. The rest of the day is devoted to learning about agriculture, getting connected to the forest, creeks, and meadows around the ranch, learning primitive skills, doing crafts centered on natural materials. We help the campers to developing skills in archery, atlatl, tomahawk, rappelling, and horsemanship. Campers will have plenty of time to play and to explore at their own pace. At Devil's Gulch, we believe strongly in free play and giving children a chance to explore the world on their own terms.
We challenge each participant to go past their comfort zone and try new things. This is not your usual summer camp. We are a small, family owned, working farm where campers can experience agricultural life the way it was. When it is over, campers will walk away with a new appreciation of the natural world and their place in it.
