Speech and Language
Our Enrichment Program is designed for children aged 2 to 5 years and focuses on speech, language, and early reading skills. Fun, play-based activities center around:
Identifying and recognizing rhyming words
Describing objects by their attributes, such as color, size, and shape
Describing objects by their location
Asking and answering questions
Learning new vocabulary words to improve communication
Engaging and socializing with other children
Our Speech and Language program is led by licensed speech providers under the direct supervision of a Speech and Language Pathologist. Speech and Language screenings are completed at the start and end of each program.
Parents are given a brief summary of their child’s speech and language status at the conclusion of each program.
Tutoring
Our program focuses on the areas of Math, Language Arts, and the Ohio Achievement Test. Your child will receive:
A pre-assessment to determine academic strengths and challenges
An individualized learning plan outlining goals based on state standards, with
focus on reading, comprehension, spelling, or math
Small group (3-5 children) or one-on-one sessions, including learning activities that utilize a state approved curriculum
A post-assessment to determine academic growth of set goals
Health and Wellness
Our Health and Wellness program is designed for children ages 8 to 15 years old. The program focuses on helping children gain a healthy perspective on nutrition and fitness through fun and engaging group games and athletic activities. Children will experience personal growth and development, as well as good sportsmanship and positive interactions among peers. Your child will be educated on various topics such as:
Nutrition
Stretching
Strengthening
Balance
Coordination, among others
Our Health and Wellness program is led by a licensed Physical Therapist. A fitness assessment is completed at the start and end of each program and you are given a brief summary of your child’s fitness status at the conclusion of each program. The fitness assessment includes strength, balance, endurance, and flexibility domains and will be conducted in an objective format.
Social Skills
Children of all ages enjoy a wide range of teaching strategies used to facilitate skill development, including role play, video modeling, and interactive games. Sessions focus on:
Nonverbal communication
Discriminating / labeling emotions
Reciprocal social interactions
Perspective taking
Problem solving
Conflict / anger management
Maintaining appropriate boundaries
Developing and maintaining friendships
Social skills training sessions are led by a licensed teacher and/or Speech-Language Pathologist. This small, structured, skill-based instruction follows detailed lesson plans while collecting data to ensure progress. Children are placed with peers who are of similar age and ability in order to promote successful learning involving social interaction and understanding.
Equine Assisted Therapy
Equine assisted therapy programs are designed for children of all ages. Utilizing the movement of highly-trained horses, behavioral and educational goals are addressed as the rider’s responses to the animal are analyzed by a therapist and adjusted accordingly. Areas of need addressed in this program include:
Sensory integration
Function
Mobility
Balance
Posture
The program is overseen by a specially trained and licensed therapist who has experience in pediatric physical therapy and hippotherapy.
