SUMMER STUDY at THE UNIVERSITY OF VERMONT offers a 4-week college credit or non-credit program for qualified students completing 9th, 10th, 11th or 12th grade. Students can earn COLLEGE CREDITS at one of the East's leading universities. Students select courses from a variety of subjects taught by university professors. College courses include Anthropology, Fine Arts, Astronomy, Music, Sociology, Theater and Dance, Philosophy, English, Communications and much more.
The programs have a wide variety of enrichment classes including Expository Writing, Speed Reading, Journalism, Calculus, Study Skills, Introduction to Art, Community Service, Photography, Business/Marketing/Advertising, Theater, the renowned Kaplan SAT Preparation course and more. Students have use of the extensive sports and recreational facilities on campus through organized afternoon activities as well as recreational outdoor hiking, biking and roller-blading excursions conducted daily. In addition, students can join one of nine available clinics in soccer, volleyball, basketball, tennis, fitness training, rock climbing, sailing or guitar. Fun-filled evenings include concerts, shows, dance clubs, movies, broomball, skit/talent night and other great activities.
Students will take 3 WEEKEND EXCURSIONS in the 4-week program. Students will visit Mt. Stowe ski area, 6 Flags amusement park at Lake George, as well as a weekend trip to Boston to enjoy the "big city" and to tour other universities. These weekend trips afford Summer Study students the opportunity to experience the beauty of Vermont. Our EXCLUSIVE CONCEPT of weekend travel is included in the program fees and completes "THE TOTAL PRECOLLEGIATE EXPERIENCE" at The University of Vermont.
