Math
Camp Sum Fun! Addition and Subtraction Math Fun (grades 1-3). A fun approach for your child to improve understanding of basic addition and subtraction skills, while increasing speed and accuracy.

· Learn strategies to help with addition and subtraction.
· Understand the concept that addition and subtraction are related.
· Increase speed and accuracy of basic addition and subtraction facts.
· Solve simple addition and subtraction word problems.


Multiply & Divide: Multiplication and Division Math Facts (grades 3-5). A fun approach for children to improve understanding of basic multiplication and division facts, while increasing speed and accuracy.

· Understand the concept of multiplication as repeated addition.
· Identify division facts related to multiplication facts.
· Learn multiplication to help with multiplication facts.
· Increase speed and accuracy of basic multiplication and division facts.


Fraction Action I! Making Fractions Fun (grades 3-5). A fun approach for your child to improve understanding and gain confidence working with basic fractions.

· Model and write fractions.
· Find equivalent fractions.
· Add and subtract fractions with like and unlike denominators.
· Compare and order fractions.


Fraction Action II! More Fractions (grades 6-7). A fun approach for your child to improve advanced fraction skills and develop confidence working with fractions.

· Find equivalent fractions.
· Compare and ordering fractions.
· Add and subtract fractions.
· Multiply and divide fractions.


Solve This: Math Problem-Solving! (grades 4-5). Your child will become a confident, analytical thinker and problem solver. Students will explore many options to solve problems and discuss their tactics with the group.

· Review the problem-solving process: Understand, Plan, Solve, and Look Back.
· Learn and apply multiple problem-solving strategies such as: Draw a Picture, Find a Pattern, Work Backward, and Solve a Simpler Problem.
· Solve different types of word problems.

Solve This: Math Problem-Solving! (grades 6-7). Your child will gain the skills to become a confident analytical thinker and problem-solver.

· Learn and apply multiple problem-solving strategies such as: Find a Pattern, Work Backward, Solve a Simpler Problem, Draw a Diagram, and Write an Equation.
· Write and solve equations for word problems.
· Use logic to solve puzzles.
· Solve geometry problems.


Writing
Write On! Writing Styles Camp (grades 4-6). Your child will have fun engaging in different roles as authors, while practicing and improving writing skills.

· Write descriptive, informative and persuasive pieces.
· Write as a newspaper reporter, an advertiser, a movie critic, and more.
· Create and illustrate stories.

Write On! Writing Techniques Camp (grades 6-8). Your child will become a more confident writer while exploring and learning various writing techniques.

· Practice different approaches to prewriting.
· Discover your literary voice.
· Create a unique piece of work that reflects your style.


Reading
Read Ahead: Early Reading Fun (Pre-K and Kindergarten). A fun approach for your child to build early reading skills.
· Recognize and write capital and lowercase letters.
· Build listening comprehension strategies.
· Increase book awareness.
