USAC Military Adventure Camp will be held in Millersburg, Kentucky at the National Cadet Training Center (NCTC) formerly the Millersburg Military Institute. NCTC is the premier training site for Army Career Exploration Training. Just 90 minutes from Fort Knox, three hours from Fort Campbell and in close proximity to the Blue Licks Battlefield State Resort Park – which has 525+ acres available for field training. – the NCTC is the ultimate location for military adventure camp.
Basic Cadet Training (BCT). This two-week adventure is often known as "Boot Camp." Basic Cadet Training is physically and mentally demanding, with heavy emphasis on personal accountability and teamwork. Each Cadet Recruit is assigned to a platoon of 18-25 Recruits lead by a Cadet Troop Handler and trained by a qualified Drill Sergeant. Cadets will learn military drill and ceremonies, marksmanship, martial arts and be challenged like never before! Upon completion of Basic Cadet Training, you will earn the title "Army Cadet," and will have earned the privilege of wearing the Army Combat Uniform at a formal graduation.
Basic Leader Course (BLC) An intense three-week program for graduates of Recruit Training or CTC. BLC provides advanced orientation in basic leadership, troop leading procedures, risk assessment, land navigation and field training, marksmanship, self-defense and team-building activities. There is the possibility of a recruit transitioning directly from BCT to BLC, but spaces are limited. The combined BCT and BLC course will last a total of four weeks.
Army Career Exploration Challenge (ACE) An intense two-week basic training course that focuses primarily on introducing young men and women ages 17-21 (no age waivers will be granted) to the opportunities and challenges involved with being a Soldier in the U.S. Army, or a member of another branch of service. This is the closest you can get to actually going through Military Basic Training without enlisting. ACE recruits must be in excellent physical condition.
The Army Cadet Martial Arts Program (TACMAP) A one-week advanced martial arts training program based on rigid military standards, along with other high-adventure recreational activities. TACMAP utilizes MCJKKD as its main training format, which includes a combination of Self Defense, Judo, Aikido, Jujitsu, Karate, Boxing and Wrestling.
Cadet Transition Course (CTC). An abbreviated Basic Cadet Training program for Cadets of a Recognized Cadet Corps (RCC) (Sea Cadets, Civil Air Patrol or Junior ROTC) who are transitioning to the USAC at an advanced rank. All participants in CTC will attend without rank, as recruits. To graduate from CTC, the recruit must pass the general military skills test for the grade they are eligible for and the Army Cadet Physical Fitness Test for the grade they are eligible for. Graduates of CTC, who meet all appointment criteria, will normally graduate at a higher grade as permitted by USAC regulations. Graduates of CTC will immediately transition to BLC.
