More About Camp
Valley Mill Camp has been serving families in the Washington, DC area since 1956, combining closeness to home with the atmosphere of an away camp.

Sixty acres of deep woods, surrounding a spring-fed lake, provide a delightfully cool headquarters for a vigorous camp program. Growth and development of character and personality, improvement of athletic skills, and a sense of group fun, are our goals. Small camp groups, led by a large staff of qualified counselors, ensure that every camper receives individual attention.

At Valley Mill Boys Camp, each boy is placed into an age group under the direction of a group counselor. With his group, he attends activities, assemblies, and special events. Activities of younger age groups are paced to their capacities, while older boys have ample opportunity to excel.
We emphasize the development of group cohesiveness and of resilience through outdoor challenge. Many boys attend Valley Mill year after year, finding increased interest and deepened experiences each time.

At Valley Mill Girls Camp, growth and development of character and personality, improvement of athletic skills, and a sense of group fun, are our goals. Small camp groups led by a large staff of qualified counselors, ensure that ever camper receives individual attention. Valley Mill Camp, founded in 1956, has a history of bringing area girls a summer packed with healthful and absorbing activities.

Valley Mill Camp is an American Camping Association accredited camp.
