More About Camp
YMCA Camp Jones Gulch Resident Camp
We offer high quality resident camping opportunities for youth entering grades 3-10 in a pristine forest of redwoods and meadows located in the Santa Cruz Mountains, just minutes from the Pacific Ocean. The dynamic camp program builds character and promotes a lifetime of healthy activities and relationships with others. Camp activities include horseback riding, swimming, climbing tower, canoeing, archery, hiking, drama, art & crafts, sports and more. Questors and Rangers (grades 7-10) get specialty activities in addition to those above that include ropes course, surfing, rock climbing, art, mountain biking, and backpacking.
YMCA Camp Jones Gulch C.I.T. Program
Our Counselor In Training program is designed to teach leadership skills for High School students entering grades 10 & 11. The C.I.T. program offers amazing opportunities for growth and personal challenge. In two-week sessions, youth focus on leadership techniques related to working with children and in service as a group. This program has a special application and interview process, and space is limited.
YMCA Camp Jones Gulch High Adventure Camps
provide teens (grades 6-12) with exciting opportunities to develop leadership responsibilities and learn 'low impact' camping skills while cultivating an appreciation for, and connection with the natural world around them as they travel together through some of California's most beautiful natural areas. This year we have backpacking, surfing, rafting and multiple activity trips.
