Wood-shop, Fencing, Wilderness, Mountain Biking. Girls Camp Head Counselor.
Our Wood Shop leader structures the program for the Summer and organizes 1 day, 1 week, 2 week and 4-week projects for campers to complete. A background un wood shop, an ability to inspire along with the desire to keep a safe clean environment for teaching is important.
Wilderness staff at FLC focus mainly on adventure based activities: climbing, canoeing, kayaking, hiking and overnight trips and also carry traditional general counselor responsibilities. Wilderness staff is responsible for the well-being and safety of campers, both in cabin settings and in daily activities, both on and off camp. A Wilderness staff must have background and experience pertaining to working with youth and/or the operation of an assigned department: climbing, kayak, backpacking, canoe or orienteering. A knowledge of the Adirondack Region is helpful.
Our Mountain Biking instructor / counselor is going to help us grow a new program. With an investment in new bikes, trails and the possibility of a pump track in 2019, we need someone with enthusiasm, bike maintenance skills and a real go getter attitude.
General counselors carry many of the same responsibilities but are primarily on camp facilitating daily activities and a positive camp culture. Activities include the creative arts, team sports, adventure sports, waterfront and wilderness and nature. Lead roles in a number of activity areas.
Our girls camp Head Counselor works as part of a 2 person leadership team managing the day to day running of the girls camp.
