Camp Counselor Jobs and Employment Opportunities
The Stevens Point Area YMCA – Camp Glacier Hollow offers a variety of summer camp counselor jobs and opportunities for employment. Below are descriptions of positions. Camp & School Age Child Care Director (full-time/year-round position):
Make a difference in the lives of children and families through summer camps and school age child care programs. Overall responsibilities include delivering high quality Summer Resident and Day Camp Programs (June-August) at our 100-acre summer camp located 15 minutes east of Stevens Point. This position is also responsible for our School Age Child Care (SACC) Programs (September – May) at the YMCA and six school sites. This also includes planning, developing, evaluating, modifying, expanding, and supervising all associated programs and staff.
Must have a bachelor’s degree in education, child development, recreation, camp management, environmental education, or related field. Technical knowledge of camp director and group child care state licensing rules required. CPR w/AED and First Aid is a position prerequisite. Must also have a valid Class D driver’s license and ability to safely drive the YMCA van or mini bus.

Day Camp Program Coordinator:
Responsible for assisting the Program Director with leading, planning, preparing, supervising, general program operations, and for camp counseling.
Office Manager & Health Assistant:
Responsible for coordinating with the Camp Director and Program Director with planning and leading general program operations, camper supervision, general office duties, staff files, record keeping, schedule coordinating, maintaining program equipment and general facility cleanliness. Health care duties include assistant administration of health services.
Kitchen Supervisor/Cook:
Responsible for carrying out overall kitchen operations including cooking at least two meals (breakfast, lunch or dinner), coordinating cook staff, food and supply ordering, general cleaning, dishes and record keeping. Additional duties may include camp program support.
Kitchen Assistant (part-time):
Responsible for cooking one meal (typically dinner, but is based on the Kitchen Supervisor schedule), general cleaning and dishes.
Day Camp Counselor/Naturalists:
Responsible for carrying out overall camp program operations, teaching traditional camp and environmental education activities and camp counseling for the various Day Camps.
