Dragonfly Forest offers three unique overnight summer camp experiences.
Our traditional program serves children 7-14 with autism, 22q chromosome deletion disorder, Down Syndrome, sickle cell disease, hemophilia, and persistent asthma. For these sessions, we provide children with unforgettable overnight camping experiences under the safety of well trained staff and round the clock medical teams. Highlights include authentic cabin sleeping, zip line and high ropes course, archery, lake swimming, boating, fishing, tie dye, and nature hikes.
Our Explorers Program serves teens and young adults 13-24. Most campers have an autism, down syndrome, or 22q diagnosis, but any teen is welcome who has an interest in independent living skills. We provide all of the traditional summer camp activities (see above) in conjunction with life skills workshops: cooking, cleaning, laundry, professionalism, self advocacy, fitness, teamwork, etc.
Our Teen Leadership Program serves any 15-16 year old interested in becoming a counselor at Dragonfly Forest. Many applicants are past Dragonfly campers, but it is not required. Teens interested in this program interview with the camp director for a spot, and participate in two weeks of camp to learn leadership and diversity skills, and begin to practice the skills required to become a staff member at Dragonfly.
