Santa Monica Summer Camps

Join CONTRA-TIEMPO for our Summer Arts Academy, where students will work hands on with company members and professional artists in:

Dance: Salsa, Modern, Hip-Hop, Break dancing, Afro-Brasilian, Afro-Cuban, Stepping, Tap & more

Theater Arts: Musical Theater, Acting, Comedy, Improv Theater

Visual Arts workshops: Mural painting and drawing

Percussion workshops with renowned musicians

Art as Social Action: Choreography, Improvisation on student selected topics, Service learning in the arts

At the end of the session, includes a final performance where friends and family can cheer on their CONTRA-TIEMPO stars!

We teach skiing or snowboarding on simulators in our studio. Students wear a harness and ride on a deck where they can train the muscle memory, without the dangers of the hill, the abilities they will need to ride the mountain safely.

Resident Camp (Bass Lake, CA)
Enjoy true camping at beautiful Bass Lake. Experience wakeboarding, waterskiing, tubing, rappelling, exploring Yosemite, and the magic of campfire.

Watersports Day Camp (Santa Monica, CA)
Enjoy Sailing, boating, tubing, boogie boarding, surfing, canoeing, kayaking, etc. Spend each day outdoors...at the beach, the Marina, the Lake, Hurricane Harbor Water Park.

DRAW PAINT & DESIGN!

We will have fun cartooning, creating yummy looking models of cake and candy from clay, painting on canvas, and other interesting techniques--- all developed around inspiring artists. Learn how to draw the easy Art Innovators way! All this and more while learning a little about those who have made their living as highly creative people.

EXPLORE THE WORLD!

Spend five exciting days exploring different countries through their art and architecture. At each stop, create a unique piece of art as a souvenir. Learn how to draw the easy KidzArt way! Experiment with watercolors, pastels, collage, and painting on canvas, sculpture, drawing and more. Make a model tropical house on stilts! Get your own blank "passport" stamped each day after your art journey.

Projects are developed to provide each camper with a unique experience that nurtures their individual creative spirit while building friendships, gaining artistic understanding, and - most importantly- having fun!

Bring a snack, healthy lunch, and plenty to drink.

Who can attend surf camp: First time students, including beginning, intermediate and advanced levels are encouraged to attend. Age groups: 6-12 years old and 13-17 years old can register for our camps. We encourage siblings, friends and family to all sign up together.

What to expect: Fun filled days at the beach learning how to surf. In mornings we stretch, warm-up and the surf for about two hours. After surfing, we eat lunch and relax under the sun. Then we play some beach games for about thirty minutes. Once everyone is ready, we all go surf and swim for another two hours.

Our summer camps are fun filled days with creativity, designing, art, and sewing that will teach the essential principles and elements of clothing design. Everything learned will be applied toward the goal of creating one’s own clothing, and very own fashion show. Each day presents a design challenge that helps campers learn, and express themselves through fashion. Campers create all of their own designs, and we do all the sewing! Global Groove is a unique CULTURAL ADVENTURE CAMP that exposes kids to the most exciting cultural arts, music, dance and culinary traditions as a means of self discovery. This is a place where campers are encouraged to take new risks and ultimately leave with an enhanced sense of self and a new community of friends. We offer activities like Capoeira, Flamenco, African Drumming, Didjirdu, Surfing, Swimming, Guitar, Acting and much more. We have a great Carnival every couple weeks to show off what we are learning, so stop by the check us out or try out a day of this amazing summer experience for free!!! Fulcrum Camps are weekly leadership modules led by highly experienced, positive Fulcrum Mentors that develop your child’s leadership and team building skills in fun, safe environments. Tailor made for kids ages 7 to 11, your child will leave camp each day having experienced something fun, new and memorable amongst a small group of similarly aged campers. All small groups are made up of approximately 13 kids and 2 Fulcrum Mentors per group. Everyday at Fulcrum Camps begins and ends at Fulcrum HQ located in Santa Monica. More importantly, every moment in between is spent at a unique destination ranging from Chinatown to Temescal Gateway Park to Fulcrum’s High Challenge Ropes Course in Culver City.

One of the best times in a child's life is summer time. Each summer, we strive to create the best one ever for our campers with an exciting line-up of fun! Count on making lots of new friends and exploring creative arts, science and more. Swimming, sports and weekly field trips to places such as museums, aquariums and amusement parks fill the Delphi Summer with additional adventure.

Academic Enrichment
Camp is a great place for children to sharpen skills, advance in existing studies or explore new interests. Young students will also take advantage of our early reading program. In fact, many of our new campers will learn to read for the very first time!

Academic Enrichment (Reading, Spelling, Math, Handwriting, Science)
Outdoor Physical Activities: Our playground and multipurpose sports court is the focus of PE instruction and games including basketball, volleyball, four square and more.
Lunch to pack three healthy drinks, two to three protein-rich snacks, and a BIG lunch for your camper!
Afternoon "Summer Fun in the Afternoon"
Read Aloud: Our teachers read out loud to campers from a selection of books designed to expand their minds and take them to exotic lands.
Science, Art, Music & More: Campers may participate in fun science projects, art and music programs and more during the afternoon part of the camp.
Swimming & Sports: Twice a week throughout the summer, campers will go swimming and participate in other outdoor sports (for grades 2 - 6)
Playground and Outdoor Water Fun: For our younger campers (Kindergarten - 1st grade), there is outdoor water play in our playground wading pool with water balloons, fun outdoor games, bubbles and more.
Field Trips: Weekly onsite and offsite field trips are scheduled throughout the summer (see Calendar for more)
