Please note: job descriptions and responsibilities will vary from camp to camp. The descriptions below are to meant to serve only as an aid.

Camp Director
Experience Required: Extremely High
Typically, the Camp Director holds the position of the greatest responsibility at camp; not only for all campers, but all counselors and staff who reside at camp. While pre-requisites for the postion of Camp Director might vary from camp to camp, most camp directors will have been former camp counselors as usually will have held the supporting position of "Associated Director". In addition to camp operations, the Camp Director is often the initial point of contact for parents of campers while camp is open as well as during the off-season.

Assistant Director
Experience Required: Very High
The Assistant Director(s) will normally: 1.) provide primary support to the Camp Director's, 2.) take responsibility for counselors and campers, 3.) and support particular aspects of the camp's programming. Most Assistant Directors will have previously served as former camp counselors.

Specialty Counselor
Experience Required: High (in the particular field of interest)
Specialty Counselors possess excellent aptitude in a particular activity or skill set and will typically participate most often (if not be in charge) of their specific activity of expertise.

General Counselor
Experience Required: Little to Moderate
General Counselors are normally regarded as being on the "front lines" at camp; having a direct relationship with campers with respect to supervision of activities as well as daily living arrangements. At many camps, general counselors are assigned to a particular group (or cabin) of campers. General counselors will often be in charge of or supervise particular activities which one may possess a high skill level or aptitude.

Supporting Staff
Experience Required: Little to Extremely High (i.e. MD or Nurse)
Supporting staff at camp allow the actual day-to-day operations and facilities at camp to run smoothly; ranging from health care, kitchen staff, office personel, and maintenance.


Activities' Skill Level - in the following list select:
  • "H" for those which are just your Hobby.
  • "A" for those in which you can Assist.
  • "E" for those activities you can organize and teach as an Expert.
  • Do not check an activity for which you have no experience.

General Agreement

1. By submitting you information on-line, you agree to notify the Camp Channel regarding any change in status of your availability for employment. In other words, send us an email if you get hired. In addition, you agree to allow your resume to be removed at the Camp Channel's sole discretion if deemed necessary due to outdated content or in the event of any situation which might be interpreted as being a potential source of conflict. The Camp Channel will send you periodic correspondence via email in order to verify if you are currently available for employment.

2. Camp Channel reserves the right to refuse any submission for inclusion in the Camp Staff Resumes section at it's sole discretion.

3. Since all Staff Resumes are initially reviewed for errors (and possibly "inappropriate content"), please allow 1-4 days for your resume to be reviewed for inclusion in the Camp Channel database of resumes.
