Fridley Summer Camps

Don't let your kids miss out on these treasured memories of summer that will last a lifetime. The Fridley Recreation Department has an affordable, all day program to assure working families the opportunity to participate in what makes summer vacation the most magical time of the year. ROCKS is all about learning, exploring, adventure, creativity, friendships, and most of all FUN!

The program meets from 7:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Monday - Friday at the Fridley Community Center (6085 7th Street NE) June 13 - August 19, 2011 (excluding July 18-22). $125 per week.

Inspire a passion for science in your child! New activities every year, over 50 locations and four different kinds of Camp Invention programs in Minnesota!

Kids participate in each of these activities every day:

I Can Invent: Fantasy Inventions and Complicated Machines III - Use real tools to take apart old appliances and see how they work, then create a model of your own invention. Older campers participate in a Rube Goldberg team challenge that starts a (safe) explosion.
Hatched! – Help save a virtual world and become an entrepreneur in the avatar marketplace.
SMArt: Science, Math, and Art – Explore "cool math" like tessellations, fractals, and more!
Power'd – Discover how to use natural energy sources and build your own motorized pet.
Global Games - Children explore cultures from across the world as they play games from far away lands, recreate history and are challenged to work together.


Directed and taught by qualified local educators, Camp Invention is a national, non-profit science enrichment program from the National Inventors Hall of Fame Foundation in partnership with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Summer Camps at Moore Than Dance are a great way to brush up on your acting and dancing skills. They are also a great way to get ready for upcoming auditions. We have workshops such as My First Dance Class, Perfect Princess, Tappin It to the Streets, Villains and Vixens, Acing Your Audition, Dancing Disney and more. All of our classes are taught by working professionals in the Performing Arts. Our summer camps have a great teacher to student ratio and are available for ages 3-adult.

Springbrook Nature Center offers a variety of hands-on camps for children ages 4-12.

Here is a list of this summer's day camp offerings:

Ages 4 and 5 - Curious Capers, Animal Superheroes, Fossil Finders, Splish Splash, Wiggles 'n' Giggles, Wild Things.

Ages 6 to 8 - Let's Swing, Green Team, Launch, Down and Dirty, Nature Wizards, Eco Pirates.

Ages 9 to 12 - Challenge Yourself, Water Wariors, Nature Reality Show, Nature Bootcamp, Forts Fire and Fun, Natural Inventors.

Gramp Camp - For Grandparents (or parents/guardians/adults)and children ages 4 - 10.
