Since 1973, Wilderness Ventures has been conducting exciting expeditions for young adults in the Western United States and several international countries. Activities include backpacking, whitewater rafting & kayaking, mountaineering, biking, sailing, SCUBA, canoeing, sea kayaking, and community service.

Since 1973, Wilderness Ventures has been conducting exciting expeditions for beginners and experienced young adults, ages 11 through 20. Expeditions visit a variety of wilderness environments in the Western United States, Hawaii, Alaska, Canada, Europe, Australia, Central & South America, and the South Pacific for extended periods. Students learn outdoor and group leadership skills as well as gain an appreciation for various wilderness environments. Activities include backpacking, whitewater rafting & kayaking, mountaineering, biking, sailing, SCUBA, canoeing, sea kayaking, and community service. Participants come from nearly every state and several countries. Enrollment is limited, and applicants must submit school references prior to admission. Previous wilderness experience is not necessary.

Weeklong summer programs where ages 7-17 create iPhone/Android apps, build video games, program in C++/Java, mod with Minecraft, make movies, robots, and more. STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) programs held at over 80 universities throughout the U.S. This includes Stanford, Princeton, Yale, and others. iD Tech Camps is for ages 7-17. Develop an iPhone or Android app, code a program in C++ or Java, create a video game, mod with Minecraft, build a robot, construct a website, produce a movie, or design a digital photo portfolio.

4. Acting Camp
Charlotte, North Carolina

1 Week Acting & Scene Study Camp Intensive, 3 hour daily sessions for Ages 10-16. Offered in Charlotte.

1 WEEK CAMP INTENSIVE-5 DAY, 3-hours per day, Beginner Camp July 15-19 10AM- 1PM, or Intermediate Camp Aug. 5-9 10AM-1PM at SPIRIT SQUARE, 345 North College Street, Charlotte, NC, 28202.

Beginner Camp includes--Relaxation and Sense Memory Exercises,Theatre Games, Voice Projection, Movement, Improvisation with in-Depth Scene Study. The teachings of Stanislavski, Adler, Meisner and Katselas will be explained and explored. Learn though scene critique how to create realism in performance including using personalization, substitution, creating a place, intent, creative hiding and physical action. One afternoon will be devoted to "on-camera" cold reading and the audition process.
Friday there will be a scene performance. Parents are invited.

Intermediate Camp includes--Continuation of in-depth scene study. For the camper who completed the beginner camp week.

The curriculum taught in this camp is for the serious acting student who wants to gain a foundation in the arts and pursue a career in acting.

About: Linda Ann Watt -- acting instructor, director, member of Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Radio and Television Artists SAG-AFTRA and owner of Corlin Productions, a union signatory production house in Los Angeles and Charlotte, which produces film, television, commercials and documentaries. Through Corlin Productions, Watt produced The Method based on Stanislavski and Strasberg, written by Lorrie Hull, Ph.D., with Cloris Leachman, Martin Landau and Shelley Winters. The material contained in the educational DVD was the only teaching tool approved by Lee Strasberg.

Watt attended New York Academy of Theatrical Arts (under scholarship), American Theatre of Actors (ATA) and Stella Adler Conservatory. She later studied extensively with Milton Katselas (director Butterflies are Free, broadway/movie) and with Lorrie Hull, Ph.D., master teacher for Lee Stasberg. She found Hull's work so inspiring, she helped Hull produce "The Method" educational teaching tools. Watt has taught an Enrichment Arts Program through UCPS and Wingate University and she was invited by Blumenthal Performing Arts Center's Educational Department to teach her educational program, Spring 2011. Watt received A GAP grant through the UCCAC and the NC Arts Council, three consecutive years to teach the Enrichment Arts Program through Union County, NC public schools.

6. NIKE Boys Basketball Camp-Carolina Courts
Charlotte, North Carolina

Aug 5-9, 2013

The 4th annual NIKE Boys Basketball Camp at Carolina Courts in Indian Trail, NC (suburb of Charlotte) will run August 5-9, 2013 and will be directed by Lee Miller as well as local high school coaches from the Charlotte metro area.

This camp will focus on individual skill development with our morning skill stations and afternoon 3 on 3 Cut Throat League. Each camper will also play in one 5 on 5 game and participate in our Living by Numbers contests each day. This summer camp is a perfect way to prepare for your school, church, rec or AAU season. All NIKE basketball camps maintain a player to coach ratio of 8:1 and is staffed by high school and collegiate coaches as well as college players.

This camp is limited to the first 96 boys that register and is for ages 9-15 (entering grades 4th-9th). The camp fee is $255 per player.

7. School of Rock Performance Camp
Charlotte, North Carolina

School of Rock Performance Camps are an ideal program for students who want to play in a band and gain professional experiences in the music industry. Camps end with a a LIVE rock concert for friends and family!

Students spend two full weeks working in a hands-on atmosphere learning band fundamentals, performance techniques, and have one on one instruction. Each two week session culminates in a LIVE performance for friends and family. This is a great way to experience a condensed version of the the Paul Green School of Rock Music!
