When children build and experiment, they live the entire process of creating ideas, solving problems and overcoming obstacles. They have a natural curiosity and creativity that can be strengthened through play and group interaction to learn in new ways.

At HobbyBots, children will develop basic robot building instructions, programming and movement, by building and programming robots using the LEGO NXT Mindstorms robotics kit. They will be working in pairs using communications skills, problem solving, and collaborative teamwork to design a program that the robot must master in projects and mini challenges from past FLL seasons (see www.FirstLegoLeague.org)

* Recommended for ages 9-15
* Minimum age is 9 - born in ‘00 and in grade 4 in Sept.’09
* No previous experience is required
* Students will have a partner for most activities and are expected
to co-operate and share well

Guitar Boot Camp
You may not be a Guitar Genius yet, but this camp will help you on your way. This week is the real deal-and guitarists of all skill levels from beginners to musicians with serious chops, will benefit. If you deliver effort and enthusiasm, you'll see significant improvement in a short time span thanks to our focus on weak point training (General Music Theory, Modes, Rhythm, Composition, Scales & Chords). An intense week!

BYOB Camp
Guitarist? Bass Player? Drummer? Singer? Join the BAND!
We'll team you up with other musicians for a week-long jam. An Inkling instructor/mentor will guide you in working together as a band. At the end of the session, you'll take away a CD of your band's music, and play live for your family and friends at a local venue.

Inkling Music Experience
The Inkling Music Experience will allow students with little to no practical training to explore different types of musical expression-including percussion circles and simple (but "sweet") guitar solos. Instrument Showcase:each day a different instrument will be explored & music games that teach skills and music appreciation.
