The Susquehannock Camps

More About Camp

Campers embrace tolerance and respect for others, how to deal gracefully with conflict and develop a sense of fair play. The program is designed to engender self-reliance, self-confidence, sportsmanship and leadership.

Operating as brother and sister camps, Susquehannock for Boys and Susquehannock for Girls run independent programs across the 100-acre campus. Each camp has its own individual traditions that its campers hold dear. Some co-ed activities are organized for older campers.

The Susquehannock Camps overlook the beautiful spring-fed Tripp Lake in the Endless Mountains of northeastern PA. Mild temperatures, low humidity, and a scenic forested setting characterize every summer.

Susquehannock features multiple fields for soccer, football, lacrosse, field hockey, baseball, and softball among the many field sports. There are also numerous courts for tennis, basketball, street hockey and volleyball. Facilities include sleeping cabins, docks for swimming and boating, two lodges for indoor activities, brand new stables and riding ring, a climbing tower, zip-line, weight room, craft shop, nature center/woodshop, cookout sites, shower facilities, and a fully staffed infirmary. The Main Lodge serves the entire campus as a dining hall, where boys and girls eat separately.

Horseback Riding is very popular and is offered at an additional rate, as space permits.
Academic Tutoring for one or two subjects per camper is also offered at $40 an additional rate.

A professional staff with many years of experience directs the program. Senior Staff members are seasoned educators and coaches, many of whom have been part of the camp family for more than 20 years. Often, Cabin Counselors have been campers themselves and have risen through the Counselor-in-Training program.

We maintain a five-to-one camper to counselor ratio for general activities and smaller ratios during expert instruction. Staff members are selected based their dedication to the care and development of youth.

The Susquehannock Camps are proud to be ACA-accredited, and undergo a rigorous inspection every three years verifying that we meet the high standards of the American Camping Association.
