Camp CaPella is located on Phillips Lake in Lucerne, Maine, and is approx. 12 miles from the Bangor area and 13 miles from Ellsworth. Our facilities include a newly renovated lodge, a bunkhouse, and a bathhouse with individual showers and toilets. The open area is low and flat, making it accessible for campers using wheelchairs and other devices for ambulation. The landscape offers a beautiful shoreline with a sandy beach and a spacious, grassy area for outdoor activities. There is a ramp that extends to the water and boating area to assist transportation devices to and from our water activities.
Camp activities can provide a variety of experiences for people with disabilities. These activities include, but are not limited to: swimming, boating, camp crafts and nature study. We also offer adaptive learning opportunities such as kayaking, canoeing and sporting events that offer campers skills to carry on into their daily living recreational choices. Camp CaPella offers a relaxed setting in which campers can experience social interaction opportunities, create potential friendships with peers, and meet or exceed - personal goals they may have for themselves prior to coming to camp. Call for more information or details on these exciting offerings at Camp CaPella!
