More About Camp
Camp Edey, located on 95 acres of wetland preserve in Bayport, serves girls entering 1st through 9th grade. A typical day runs from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm. Before and after camp care is available. Camp Edey offers both day and resident camp and provides a wide variety of activities including swimming, boating, fishing, crafts, nature, science and more. Girls in grades 7 through 9 are eligible for our new Teen-Venture program, which includes an exciting off-site trip per week.
Camp Sobaco, our co-ed day camp is located on 34 wooded acres of Pine Barrens in Yaphank, and serves children entering 1st through 6th grade. A typical day runs from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm. Camp Sobaco is home to our beautiful Discovery World STEM Center and offers STEM activities and an off-site trip per week in addition to swimming, crafts and special theme activities.
Camp runs from June 27, 2016 - September 2, 2016.
Fees range from $275-$325 per week for day camp and $349-$399 for resident camp. Those who are not registered Girl Scouts are required to pay a $30 membership fee. There are early bird and sibling discounts available. Partial financial assistance is available to those who qualify. Price includes a hot lunch and $5.00 to our Trading Post!
Our camps operate in accordance with the high standards of Girl Scouts of the U.S.A., New York State health laws and country health regulations. Both camps are accredited by the American Camping Association. Inspection reports concerning our camps are on file at the health department. Our swimming program and all waterfront activities are run according to American Red Cross standards. A health supervisor is on duty at each camp. Our camps are open to all. Children and staff of diverse racial, religious, national origins and socioeconomic backgrounds are welcome in our camps.
