More About Camp
What is it about Summer Camp at Camp Henry that keeps kids coming back year after year? Is it our 73 year-old tradition of providing a memorable camp experience, generation after generation? Perhaps it's the fun activities and new friendships that kids remember. Maybe it's the natural beauty of the camp surroundings and a chance to do things kids often don't get to do - horseback riding, starting a campfire and roasting marshmellows, catching frogs, and so much more.
But most likely, what keeps people coming back to Camp Henry is our warm and energetic, high-quality staff. Our staff has a sincere devotion to children, and to Camp Henry. Most years, around 3/4 of the staff are returning staff. Many new staff are former Camp Henry campers. With this experience comes the ability to connect with children, to energize them, to help them bond with others, and help create the lasting memories of camp that they will cherish into their adulthood.
We have 5 goals for summer camp. We want every child to: Have a ton of fun; To try something new; To know God loves them; To do something to make the world a better place; and to go home feeling better about themselves.
Programs include both day camps and residential camps. Residential camps include: 3 day Mini Camp, Regular Camp, Water Ski Camp, Frontier Camp (western horseback), and teen adventure camps.
Camp Henry offers personal and spiritual growth, and joyful expression within the experience of a Christian community. Camp Henry is a ministry of Westminster Presbyterian Church of Grand Rapids, and open to all regardless of faith, sex, race or national origin.
