Everyone, including children and adults who have physical disabilities, needs a vacation away from home. Camp Oakhurst gives our campers a fun-filled summer vacation in a place where it's easy to participate in activities, make friends, feel accepted, and gain independence.
Camp Oakhurst, located 55 miles south of New York City, is a scenic 15 acre camp in Oakhurst, New Jersey in Monmouth County about one mile from the Atlantic Ocean. Camp Oakhurst was established in 1906 and has a mission to improve the quality of life for disabled people and their families through recreational, educational, social and residential programs. Campers live in easily accessible modern cabins, surrounded by tall trees, grass and fresh air, with all the counselors, support and adapted facilities it takes to make their camp/vacation a fun and memorable experience. Camp Oakhust serves children from age 8 and older as well as adults a summer camp experience as well as year-round respite program. Oakhurst helps campers discover new abilities and new strengths, that helps foster more independence and self-confidence. Fees, where applicable, for eligible clients are scaled according to family income and size. No one is denied service because of inability to pay.
