Walden’s program blends tradition with contemporary thinking to develop girls’ self-esteem, confidence and leadership. Our Honor System enhances basic values of honesty, responsibility, respect, and consideration for others. The campers have an effective council in which all age groups learn to support each other. Individualized programming balances camper interests with needs for growth and challenge. Optional intensive programs are available to those who want to specialize in tennis, riding, and selected land sports. We offer swimming, water-skiing, sailing, canoeing, kayaking, riding, tennis, gymnastics, archery, field hockey, soccer, basketball, lacrosse, softball, climbing tower, adventure challenge, pottery, jewelry, enameling, drawing and painting, drama and dance. Our extensive trip program, including scenic mountain hiking and canoeing trips, inspires appreciation for the natural environment. Long-lasting friendships are made in Walden’s beautiful woodland setting.
