More About Camp
WHERE ADVENTURES BEGIN! Since 1943, Canadian and international campers have joined together for a summer of fun, laughter, friendships, sports, activities, adventures and memories. Located on Fairy Lake in the beautiful Muskoka region of Ontario, Swallowdale Camp welcomes campers ages 7 to 15 (LIT 16 years).
Facilities: Cabins accomodate 8-12 campers in bunk beds. Staff are also housed in a separate room within the cabin to ensure proper supervision at all times. Each cabin has electricity, a toilet and a sink. Central showers are also available. Campers are divided by age and gender and take pride in being part of their cabin family in friendly competitions and games.
Our campers are never bored. Every day they choose 5 sport or specialty activities from a vast array of options. All activities are instructed and supervised by dedicated camp staff.
Optional Excursions: Optional excursions are offered to all campers at an extra fee. Excursions offered are dependent upon session dates and duration. All excursions are fully supervised by camp staff and include transportation and admission costs.
Language Instruction: ESL is available as an option for international campers as well as Canadian campers whose first language is not English. 10 hours per week of ESL is taught by qualified instructors. (ESL comprises 2 activity periods daily)
LIT Programme (maximum 15 participants): Young people aged 16 years are welcome to apply to this leadership programme which allows participants to gain hands-on experience and develop an array of skills including social responsibility, self-confidence, teamwork and communication.
Our staff: The high quality of our language, sports and activities programmes is further augmented by our staff of sensitive, dedicated and professional instructors and counselors. They truly care about each student and ensure that students receive the attention and care needed to make their stay great.
Transportation: We offer flexible session dates and optional transfer services from Toronto, Montréal or Québec City. Swallowdale Camp truly is the place where adventures begin.
