More About Camp
Camp Life at YMCA Camp Weona, our rustic cabins provide a home for small groups of no more than 12 campers who live together and attend daily activities as a cabin group. Grouped by boys or girls cabins, campers entering similar grades and registered for the same camp program. Each cabin group also belongs to an age specific unit that participates in age appropriate evening programs and special events throughout the session.

Giving everyone the opportunity to experience all age appropriate camp activities is the basic design of our program. We take special care to ensure that each camper has challenging opportunities along with basic instruction. Each day campers participate in programs such as horseback riding, adventure programming, outdoor living skills, athletics, swimming, and the creative arts. Through these activities, campers develop self-confidence, teamwork skills, an appreciation of the outdoors, creativity, and pride in themselves and their newly learned skills. Most importantly, they end their stay at YMCA Camp Weona with fond memories and friendships that last a lifetime.

Summer dreams are made of time spent at YMCA Camp Weona. Horseback riding through the forest, kayaking under the blue sky, making new friends, singing by the campfire, jumping into the refreshing pool, learning how to set up a campsite, fishing at the lake; each day is full of new adventures.
Living, working, and playing together create a strong sense of community and forges lifelong friendships. The staff and campers are role models of honesty, caring, respect, and responsibility. As a result, the YMCA Camp Weona culture and setting are safe, fun, and enriching physically, emotionally, intellectually, and spiritually. The health and safety of each camper is of course a top priority at YMCA Camp Weona and our 1:5 counselor-to-camper ratios assures close supervision of all activities.

In its 115th year of resident camping, YMCA Camp Weona continues to provide quality programs to thousands of youth from a variety of backgrounds in our Western New York community and from around the world. Join us in a YMCA Camp Weona adventure this summer and provide your child with an experience of a lifetime.

We truly look forward to sharing this fun, interactive, and safe camp experience with you and your child (ren), and look forward to answering any questions you may have.
