At BIMA you'll be part of a vibrant community brimming with artistic discovery and Jewish experiences.

Join talented teens and top-notch arts faculty for four weeks in the summer to pursue serious artistic growth within a Jewish setting in one of four areas of focus:

Music (Choral and Instrumental)
Visual Arts
Creative Writing
Theater

Receive intensive one-on-one instruction in your chosen major, collaborate and create in small groups, and explore the community around you with new friends—all while learning more about who you are as an artist and as an individual. Your Judaism adds color and depth to the whole picture.

App Design Boot Camp
July 7-18 2018

Developed and taught by Brandeis Computer Science Professor Tim Hickey, App Design Boot Camp combines college-level coursework with field trips and social activities to provide you with an exciting and transformative summer experience.

You'll learn what it takes to create your own groundbreaking web application using industry standard technology such as HTML5, CSS and the Meteor Javascript Web Platform!

Together with talented teens from around the world, you’ll design a variety of apps pulled straight from your imagination that can be shared with family, friends, and fans the world over.

You'll have the chance to meet professional app developers at companies like Google and Fablevision and pitch your apps to them for feedback.

Service Corps
July 7 - 18, 2018

Brandeis University - named the #1 school in the country for student community service engagement - has been a center for service and social justice education for decades.

You’ll get a taste of life at a top-tier university while making meaningful personal connections with those whose lives are affected by homelessness, developmental disability, poverty, refugee status and other forms of need. Each day, you will be challenged and motivated while working together with teens from all over the world to make the community stronger.

Service Corps provides the opportunity to earn 45 hours of community service credit while honing your leadership skills, gaining deeper understanding of yourself and your ability to help those in need and developing projects and ideas to bring change back home with you.

Queer Academics & Activism
June 23 - June 28, 2018

This six-day seminar is designed to engage high school students in a rigorous and thought-provoking examination of the queer experience. Drawing on the academic resources of the Brandeis Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies department and the commitment of Precollege Programs to creating safe, life-changing summer student experiences, this program answers the need for LGBTQIA+ youth and their allies to use an academic lens to better know their history and address their futures.

While other youth programs are adept at providing a focus on identity formation and social development, Brandeis is leveraging its strengths to marry a commitment to rigorous academic explorations with a safe space for personal growth and community progress.

Global Youth Summit on the Future of Medicine
June 23 - June 29, 2018

The Global Youth Summit on the Future of Medicine is a seven-day program for rising high school juniors and seniors with a passion for medicine and science, who are leaders in their schools and communities.

During their week at Brandeis University, the students attend lectures from leading medical professionals, tour medical institutions in the greater Boston area, and develop their own collaborative research project that they present at the end of the week.

GYS delegates live on campus in Brandeis dorms, and group into teams led by Faculty Mentors, current medical students at local leading institutions such as U Mass, Tufts and Harvard University.

The week-long program culminates with the S21 Symposium, where students present a medical research project to a panel of Brandeis faculty. This program introduces passionate young minds to the future of medicine and gives them the tools they need to pursue their growing interest in the medical field.
