Established in 1920, Chikopi was voted one of Canada’s 7 Best Summer Camps for boys. Chikopi is the camp where boys race across open fields, master new sports, play classic games until sunset, and form friendships that last for life. Our modest, family oriented, tech free setting lets boys enjoy real adventure every day. Campers are from around the world, and many families return for three and four generations because the experience is unforgettable.
Chikopi is fully sports orientated. Boys take part in a wide mix of assigned and u pick activities, including basketball, soccer, tennis, sailing, and weekly competitions. Small classes mean one on one coaching that helps boys learn quickly and feel proud of their progress. Being a small camp means every boy is known by name within days. Meals are served family style, encouraging conversation and respect. Cabin life with 10 to 12 campers builds independence, confidence, and practical coping skills, while counselors live in each cabin as chaperones.
Chikopi counselors are hand picked by the Directors for leadership and strong role model qualities. Nearly all were Chikopi campers themselves, carrying forward more than one hundred years of traditions. All counselors and staff complete interviews, background checks, and weeks of training before campers arrive. They are required to hold First Aid certification, and most are Lifeguard certified. Chikopi has been accredited by the Ontario Camps Association since 1965 and is inspected regularly by all applicable government agencies.
Registration is ongoing. Contact the office or download a registration form from our website. Submit the form with a six hundred dollar non refundable deposit. Discounts apply to early registration and siblings. Cabin requests are offered when campers are within eighteen months of age.
