Camp Wyoming is a Christian Camp located in Eastern Iowa. They offer summer camp programs for kids in kindergarten through 12th grade with a wide variety of adventure activities, worship, team-building, sports, Bible studies, and games. Choose the camp program that best fits your individual needs, whether it be a weekend camp where parent and child come together, a partial week camp for younger kids to stay at camp on their own for the first time, or a full-week camp for kids and youth who are ready to dive in to summer camp and experience all that Camp Wyoming has to offer.
One of the most unique parts of Camp Wyoming is their ability to provide a quality, fun, and safe camp experience while integrating Bible study, worship, and faith formation into everyday life. Worship is designed to be participatory and active, whether everyone is singing and dancing together, washing the feet of those in their group, walking and meditating in the labyrinth, or using art pieces like beads, chalk, and clay to express their worship to God. The Bible studies are age-appropriate and explore topics relevant to kids and youth. They challenge campers to put their faith into action and actually live out what the Bible teaches.
Camp Wyoming offers different program levels for different ages and comfort levels. The counselors are trained to create a supportive, safe, and fun small-group atmosphere where everyone is included and free to try new and different things. Activities like archery, canoeing, kayaking, swimming, team-building, and caving, as well as high-adventure activities like over-night hiking or river canoeing trips, high ropes course, zip lines, and river tubing are available. Every year a camper returns, they will find new activities to try and further develop the skills they’ve learned over the years.
Camp Wyoming is located on a 400 acre, forested site in Wyoming, Iowa. Bear Creek winds its way through the camp, and Frog Pond is a favorite spot for kayaking, canoeing, and, as its name suggests, catching frogs! Campers can stay in cabins, platform tents, or tree houses. Most of the time, meals are shared together in the camp’s dining hall, but groups will also have the chance to make their own meals together over a campfire. Camp Wyoming is also home to several chapels, a labyrinth, and multiple caves.
