Our fashion association's goal is to help our summer camp attendees increase their knowledge of fashion design and to educate and support the next generation of style innovators and leaders. Two Locations: Norwalk CT and Hartford CT. Please when you are enrolling give us the name and age of student, what session and which location you are planing to attend. Write all in the comment box.
Take something old that you would otherwise throw away, and make it something new. Who knew that a plain Sundress could become a chic fashion statement? hand and machine sewing,Textile design, and an incorporation of business are applied in this fashion making project.
Session 2: 7/01-7/05
In class, students will be making that necessary little dress required for every fashionista. This project will teach you how to use pattern drafting and the skills to sew using a sewing machines. Techniques such as embellishment and beading will also be learned.
Shoes are a great accessory in the summer, especially a shoe designed completely by yourself. Shoes will be created in our studio with fabric and leather of your choice. Bring in 4 pairs you will like to redesign. One of the days will be a NYC field trip.
All In The Jeans
Session 4: 7/15-7/19
Redesign your favorite jeans using textile techniques, that will change those old torn pair of pants into something worth wearing again. All the techniques learned in class can easily be used at home.
Pretty in Pink
Session 5: 7/22-7/26
This week will be devoted to the color PINK. The color pink has always been a trendy staple in the world of fashion. While keeping to our PINK theme, we will also be learning new fabric treatments and continue refining both our hand and machine sewing skills. By the end of this session you’ll have the best look in town! And just in time for the season too.
A Day At The Beach
Session 6: 7/29-8/02
Want that perfect bikini for beach season but can't find it? Why not design one youself? Make a two-piece bathing suit with one needle crochet and fabric combinations. The designers will be sewing by hand or machine.
MAD HATTER WEEK
Week 7 August 5th-9th
There is a place like no place on Earth. A land full of wonder, mystery, and danger! Some say to survive it: You need to be as mad as a hatter. This is our week to introduce you to millinery skills. You'll have a completely unique hat by the end of this class.
