Summer in the City days consist of meaningful social and cultural experiences tied to the development of executive functioning ability for life-long independence.
Morning sessions include reading and writing at the high school and college level, PSAT/SAT/ACT preparation, academic support for summer college courses, and strategy instruction to build executive functioning competence for everyday personal management.
Afternoons are filled with New York City experiences and adventures. Expert staff work together with students to guide the planning and implementation of varied social and cultural experiences. Students learn self-determination skills, real-life financial management, New York City navigation, and gain cultural awareness and appreciation through authentic learning experiences and adventures designed for young adults.
