At YMCA Camp Mataucha, we are committed to inspiring meaningful experiences through a variety of fun and safe activities such as swimming, boating, arts & crafts, nature activities, archery, rock climbing, high and low ropes challenge elements, and great sports activities! We have 80 acres and a spring fed pond where all of our great camp memories are made. YMCA Camp Mataucha provides traditional camp experiences as well as specialty camp experiences for campers who are looking for an opportunity to spend the majority of their day on activities focusing on specific skills such as fishing, mountain biking, or survival. We also offer localized transportation throughout the Greater Waterbury area, including Waterbury, Watertown, Thomaston, Naugatuck, Middlebury, Oakville and Wolcott.
Our staff are selected based on their character and past experiences, as well as their ability to accept and demonstrate the positive values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. These "Professional Role Models" are zany and energetic people who are dedicated to working with campers and inspire them to form friendships, try new adventures and create lasting memories.
