Since 1999 over 130,000 students worldwide have immersed in hands-on learning to create iPhone apps, programs with C++ and Java, video games, websites, movies, 3D models, ad designs, robots, films, and photos. Beginner to advanced students ages 7-17 enroll in these fun and challenging, weeklong, day and overnight summer camps held at 60 prestigious universities nationwide (see below).
Small class sizes (max 8:1) are guaranteed and taught by adult-only instructors, with Teens, pre-Teens, and younger students separated into different classes. Founded in 2002 by technology educators from Stanford University, and led by former Stanford educators and interactive education and entertainment creators from Apple and Walt Disney Studios - Digital Media Academy delivers a world-class digital learning experience.
Learn video game design, iPhone and iPad App development, Google Android app development, robotics, computer programming using Java or C+++, digital filmmaking, digital photography, website design, 3D modeling, animation and so much more.
Beginning to advanced student campers age 6-18 learn by doing with hands-on instruction from industry professionals, with real-world experience. DMA builds and develops STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) skills - many of DMA’s instructors have literally written the book on the subject that they teach. DMA Alumni include television and music producers, filmmakers, professional photographers as well as game and app developers.

UCSD Men's Tennis Coach completes a 2-page evaluation on strokes, level of play, and potential to play in college for all high school aged campers. Outpost Summer Camps provides unique and high quality day camp adventure programs for children ages 5-14 which includes door-to-door transportation to many areas in North County San Diego.
The camp day includes your child being picked up and dropped off at your home and a blend of group activities that explore the wilderness. Campers participate in a variety of hiking adventures, group games, daily swimming, special events and enjoy opportunities to build self-confidence and create lasting friendships. Staff to camper ratios are at least 1:6.
Located in the Los Penasquitos Canyon Preserve, OSC offers flexible enrollment options to parents seeking a quality summer camp experience for their children. Our highly skilled directors bring years of recreation and child development expertise to our program while training and supervising the highest quality staff members.
A Senior Outpost program is offered for campers entering 6-9th grade. Senior Outpost is a unique day camp program specifically designed for middle-school campers who are ready for the excitement and exploration of a daily travel adventure program. The program is designed to offer positive risk taking experiences and opportunities to try new activities and learn advanced skills. Each Senior Outpost session includes three high adventure programs: rockclimbing, sailing, and snorkeling. In addition to these programs, beach trips, teambuilding activities, swimming, and old-fashioned adventure round out the three week session. Because of the many exciting activities, Senior Outpost is a 5-day per week program only. Senior Outpost campers experience opportunities to learn healthy risk-taking and create lifelong friendships.

SEACAMP San Diego's mission is to provide exciting, innovative, hands-on, and interactive marine education opportunities, to students across the country and around the world. SEACAMP San Diego offers three unique camp opportunities: SEACAMP I, SEACAMP II, and SEACAMP III. Each camp immerses students in the fascinating world of marine biology through interactive marine science classes and field experiences. SEACAMP instructors utilize on-site aquarium facilities to teach hands-on labs. The topics of SEACAMP I labs include intertidal invertebrates, fish adaptations, night adaptations, marine mammal, and shark ecology. Labs are then all followed with field activities including several snorkel excursions, kayaking, and boogie boarding.

San Diego Junior Theatre is the oldest youth theater in the United States. We offer multiple day camps throughout the summer at Balboa Park, as well as in La Jolla and Chula Vista.

San Diego Junior Theatre's summer day camps are age-specific and run Monday through Friday.
One- week sessions with half-day activities are open to pre-schoolers and kindergartners.
Two week sessions, which run from 9 a.m. through 3 or 3:30 p.m., are open to students in elementary, middle and high school.
All camps feature acting, singing and dancing; and each one is led by a teaching artist. Additionally, SDJT camps are available throughout June, July and August. Space is limited, so parents are encouraged to enroll their children sooner than later.

For beginners to advanced musicians ages 8-15. If you never played an instrument, this is a fun and interactive way to get a jump-start. If you’re an experienced player, it’s your chance to study with the best musicians in town and perform in a band. Campers choose from guitar, bass, drums, keyboard, vocals or horns and learn from our professional teachers in a friendly and creative curriculum-based environment.
Camp hours are Monday-Friday 9AM-5PM. During the week campers will:

Media Arts Center San Diego, producers of the San Diego Latino Film Festival, now offers Fall/Winter Youth Media & Tech Camps, to help usher in a new generation of filmmakers. The Fall/Winter Youth Media & Tech Camps are weeklong sessions, which run from November 21 to November 23, December 5 to December 9, December 12 to December 16 and December 19 to December 30. These 3 and 5 day Media and Tech Camps will focus on film making, stop motion and blogging!
Our camps teach campers will know how to collaborate with each other using media and technology arts, while engaging with others in an increasingly connected world. Learning these basic media tools in a fun and collective environment provides our campers with skills to utilize the newest media technologies in a positive and productive way. In turn, it will put them on a path for success in their future careers.
Geared for ages 9-14, they learn about various multi-media practices and software including stop motion animation, movie making, music recording, blogging, and more! These fun-filled camps run Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. At the end of the week, parents and family members are invited to a private screening of the work created by campers. They also receive a DVD of their work.
"We found the Media Arts Center on a lucky fluke. Wow, what a find! My two kids, ages 11 and 15 participated in the camp where they learned more about video production and the Internet than I have learned in my entire life. The facility has great equipment, computers, etc. and the instructors made the experience exceptional. The kids loved their time at the Center and learned valuable skills. They produced stop motion animation films, created a web page, and posted videos on You Tube. All in all, an awesome experience," says camp parent, William Ortiz.
