About the program:
Our professional instructors who hold degrees in music, will train students in all the aspects of being a professional performing and recording artist.

Students will rehearse with other band members, learning "cover" songs, (songs by famous bands) and learn to write their own "original song" together as a band.

We focus on helping students develop their original music ideas into songs. We cover song writing, song arranging, melody construction, rhythm coordination, and soloing.

Playing in a band helps students develop team building skills, how to get along and collaborate with others. Students also learn at a surprisingly fast rate when playing with other band members rather than alone.

This will be the most rockin' time ever!

Beginners are welcome if the student knows the basics of their instrument. If the student has never played their instrument before, we recommend he or she take a few lessons with us and before joining the Academy of Rock.

Camp Information - Rock & Roll Camps for Kids & Teens

Dog House Music offers Rock & Roll Camp for kids and teens who play or want to learn guitar, bass, drums, vocals or keyboard.

Founded in 2004, this program offers an authentic rock & roll experience -- our instructors are all successful local touring and studio musicians. It has become Colorado's preferred teen music summer program.

Teens (11-17) learn techniques needed to play the music they love. Under the direction of our professional staff of highly trained teacher musicians, they will begin their day with music lessons on their instrument of choice, followed by music theory and music promotion. During the afternoon, students are grouped into bands to write and rehearse an original song. Each week-long session culminates in a final performance for friends and family at a local all-ages venue. Students will receive a live CD of their performance! Bands who continue on after completing the DHM summer camp program are also eligible for our Band Development and Promotion Program – free booking assistance and access to our extensive network of promotion contacts.

Kids (6-10) are introduced in a half-day program to the instruments and flavor of rock & roll, going beyond the musical genres normally covered in the classroom. Using a fun, hands-on curriculum designed with the help of local music educators, kids will learn basics of guitar, percussion, vocals, and ear training. Students will also write, record and perform a simple song with the help of our professional staff of musicians.

Camps run in week-long sessions May 30 - August 5.
