3. Summer Institute for the Gifted - The mission of the Summer Institute for the Gifted (SIG) is to provide the highest quality educational and social opportunities for academically gifted and talented students through programs designed to meet their abilities and needs.

Sessions for students in grades 4 through 11 will again be held at Amherst College, Bryn Mawr College, Emory University, Princeton University (grades 7-11), UC-Berkeley, UCLA, University of Texas at Austin, and Vassar College.

The program combines remarkable academic courses with cultural, social, and recreational opportunities. The academic program is central to the design and purpose of SIG. Our programs provide students with academic challenges designed to fit their abilities and interests. 6. Dig History! archaeology camp - Explore the history of Georgia from the Native Americans through today.
Day Camp - Coed - Thomson, Georgia

In Dig History!, campers learn about the field of archeology, including excavation, survey, forensics, and flintknapping. This is a great opportunity for kids with an interest in archaeology, history, science, and being outdoors.

In Eco-Adventures kids explore how humans live on the land from Native American farming methods to modern day "Master Gardening." Plant an herb garden, harvest fresh fruits and vegetables, learn about pollutions and pesticide dangers.

These are DAY CAMPS -- no overnight. Each week-long session is $50 per child and includes daily snacks, equipment, and activities. Please bring a sack lunch and a water bottle. The camps run Monday-Friday, 9:00am – 4:00pm.
