Aerie Experiences is offering one week Wilderness Expedition Camps tailored for young men and women aged 13-17. Participants will spend eight days and seven nights exploring the south east’s scenic wilderness and their own infinite potentials. Our strength based, prescriptive program is designed and sequenced to build confidence and competence through challenge and accomplishment readying the participant for life’s transitions and challenges, such as schooling, preparing for college, and everyday stressors such as socializing and networking. This course is intended to:

Our campers come from loving and involved families but at times struggle with home, school or social environments. Whether due to poor understanding of social cues, language processing issues, inattention or other learning deficits, many of our campers have struggled to establish and maintain meaningful and positive relationships in some mainstream environments.

Through adventure-based counseling activities, close cohort living and interdependence our participants will have the opportunity to:

 Improve ability to function within a group.
 Enhance group trust levels

Over one hundred years of wilderness, educational and therapeutic experience between our staff and no more than a 4:1 student to staff ratio ensure the safety, individual attention and accommodation needed to provide for a meaningful and memorable experience.

3. Whole World Improv Theatre Summer Camp for Kids - Our mission is to bring out the humor in all kids through improvisational techniques and games. Improv promotes focus, confidence, listening skills, and celebrates creativity!

Each day begins with relaxation and focus exercises; and moves on to connection exercises, scene and character study. Once we have developed good acting form within the improvisational scene work, we practice and learn many fun improvisational games.

Youth Technology Learning Center (YTLC) is an innovative creative technology based enrichment center offering spring camp for ages 6 to 14. Our camp will turn spring break into an exciting and memorable week of fun! We are offering a choice of full day or half day camp at a daily and a weekly rate. The following is a list of the classes offered:

Lego WeDo Robotics (ages 6 to 8) - Campers will be enthralled with building vivid real world life models with Lego's where they create their own programs for a robotic model that moves and makes a variety of sounds.

Lego Simple Machines & Motorized Mechanisms (ages 9-11) - For the more experienced builder campers will explore motorized mechanisms by building Lego simple machines and experiment with movement through robotic races.

Lego NXT Mindstorms 2.0 Robotics (ages 12 to 14) - The vastly experienced builder will fascinate in the challenges of building a full scale robot, provide programming, and experiment in robotic capability.

Carnival Ride (ages 6 to 14) - Campers will construct carnival ride models utilizing K'Nex kits which will be filmed using stop animation and used in our movie making class.

Video Game Creation (ages 8 to 14) - Campers will create their very own imaginative 2d virtual gaming world, complete with levels of difficulty, backgrounds, protagonist and antagonist characters, and music. Each camper will have their very own created video game provided on disk for them to play and show off to friends!

Movie Making (ages 6 to 8) - Campers can let their imagination and creative spirit combine in a class where they will create a movie utilizing animation, videography, and special effects!

9. Cochran Mill Nature Center - Nature Day Camp - Enjoy a fun combination of environmental education and outdoor recreation while exploring topics related to nature and the outdoors. Choose from Camp Cricket, Jr. Naturalist, or Adventure Camp.

Join Cochran Mill Nature Center for a fun-filled week at Junior Naturalist Camp! Designed for children entering 2nd through 5th grades, campers will experience a combination of environmental education and outdoor recreation, while exploring topics and activities related to nature and the outdoors. Themes and activities differ each week so campers enrolled in multiple sessions will have new and exciting experiences for a summer of fun!

Weekly themes for 2012 - Wet, Wonderful Water; What's in the Woods?; Monkeying Around, Nocturnal Animals, Fossils & Rocks; Can You See Me Now?; Totally Terrific Turtles; Animal Olympians. Campers also experience programs focused on Birds of Prey, Bats and Reptiles, hiking, canoeing and fishing.

Cochran Mill Nature Center also offers Camp Cricket for children entering kindergarten and first grade this fall. Campers will learn about reptiles, birds, insects, native wildlife of Georgia, gardening, and more! We’ll hike, fish, canoe and have loads of fun!

Campers who have completed 5th through 8th grade and have outgrown our Junior Naturalist Day Camp can participate in an exciting Adventure Camp program. Each day campers will leave Cochran Mill Nature Center for wilderness outings including hiking, orienteering, canoeing, and wildlife studies. On Thursday night, there will be a camp-out in the nature center field, including a campfire, cookout, and night hike!

Cochran Mill Nature Center is located just 20 minutes south of Atlanta in Palmetto, Georgia. The center's log structure is located by a pond on fifty privately-owned, heavily-wooded acres.
