COURSES
DMA offers day and overnight courses in weekly and multi-week sessions for youth, age 7-18. DMA courses accommodate a wide variety of digital media interests in a more sophisticated learning environment than other summer computer camps. All courses are project based and taught by accomplished professionals who have a passion for inspiring young minds. An average student to instructor ratio of 6 to 1 allows for plenty of individual attention as students explore, create and immerse themselves in an environment that is more like a production studio than a classroom.

THE TEEN EXPERIENCE
DMA’s teen courses for 2009 include Robotics, Digital Filmmaking, 3D Animation, Web Production, Programming, and Music and Video Production - just to name a few.
Teens may commute or stay on campus in university housing. Separate DMA couselor staff live in the dorm coordinating evening and weekend activities while ensuring a fun and safe experience for everyone. Teens living on campus receive breakfast, lunch and dinner in a university dining hall. Commuting students may purchase a dining hall lunch pass or buy their own lunch at one of several restaurants on campus.

THE YOUTH EXPERIENCE
DMA’s 2009 youth courses (called Digital Media Adventures) include Robotics, Digital Filmmaking, Game Creation, Web Design & Flash, Cartoon & Comic Book Creation and Surfing & Filmmaking. To create a more balanced experience, we incorporate outdoor recreation breaks throughout the day – we beleive, like you, that kids should move! Additional activities, such as sports, board games and weekend adventures are offered to youth in our residential program.

2. Camp Carew - The purpose of our camping program is to provide a recreational setting in which the Christian faith can be experienced in fellowship with others.

Camp Carew is located approximately 9 miles south of Carbondale, Illinois. We are located on a 60 acre site sitting on a 900 acre lake. We are surrounded by the natural settings of a wildlife refuge, national forest and a state park. This setting provides ample opportunities for a variety of activities.

3. Camp River Trails - River Trails serves all girls, grades 4-12. Located 90 mins from Chicago. Come for a great camp experience. Swim, hike, canoe or find some special program options! Make River Trails your summer home, make new friends and lifelong memories!
Resident Camp - All Girls - Sheridan, Illinois

Camp River Trails offers 135 acres of adventurous woodlands to explore in Sheridan, IL. River Trails offers a variety programs for girls in grades 4-9.

Campers may choose from general and specialty sessions of 5 days depending on their age and interest. The girls work with their counselors and fellow campers after arrival to plan their activities during their stay. Campers live in platform tent units.

Camp staff are carefully screened and selected, and represent the in highest character, skill and caring. All staff members are trained in First Aid and CPR, and participate in a comprehensive training prior to the start of camp. Aquatics staff possess specialized skills and certifications. Staff members are at least eighteen years of age, and hail from across the United States and abroad. Many are current college or university students or recent graduates.

Facilities at camp include a dining hall, camp office and Health Center, platform tent sites, shower house, pool for swimming, hiking trails, program buildings, and several primitive sites for tent camping and cookouts. A fulltime site manager lives on-site, and is in constant communication with resident camp staff. The site amanger also monitors and advises the camp director of approaching weather conditions.

Campers need not be Girl Scouts in order to attend Camp River Trails, though fee subsidies are provided to Girl Scouts registered within our multi-council Co-op. For more information or a link to our current camp brochure, simply submit a request and our Program Manager will contact you directly.

4. Hastings Lake YMCA - Camp Hastings is a YMCA camp with traditional, sports and specialty camps in Lindenhurst, IL.
Day Camp - Coed - Lindenhurst, Illinois

We have something for everyone at Hastings Lake YMCA.

5. Vertical Endeavors Rock Climbing Camp - Chicagoland's premier rock climbing facility. Camp activities include: Climbing, rappelling, team building, knot tying, belaying, zip line.
Day Camp - Coed - Warrenville, Illinois

Vertical Endeavors has 18,000 sq. ft. of climbing wall ranging 30-42ft in height. With 17 auto-belays and over 50 top rope stations we are Chicagoland's best climbing facility.

Camps range from 1-5 days in length. $35-$150 in cost. Camps run on weekends, school breaks, and summer break. Contact Jason Bewick for more details.

6. Hanover Park Park Districts Camps - Happy Campers Wanted! We offer a variety of camps from 9 am - 3 pm. We offer extended care options that begin at 6:30 am and end at 6 pm. Camps include field trips, swimming, sports, outdoor fun, crafts and meeting new friends.

At the Hanover Park Park District we offer the follwoing day camps: Lil Discovery ( 3 & 4 yrs), Discovery ( 5 - 6 yrs), Adventure (7 - 11 yrs), Teen (11 - 14 yrs), Drama (7 - 13 yrs), Outdoor Adventure (6 - 12 yrs), & Sports ( 6 - 12 yrs). Camp Sunrise offers care beginning at 6:30 - 9 am and serves breakfast; Camp Sunset offers care from 3 - 6pm and provides snack. All Camps go on a field trip each session.
