THE DMA EXPERIENCE

Founded in 2002 by technology educators from Stanford University, and led by former Stanford educators and interactive education and entertainment creators from Apple and Walt Disney Studios - Digital Media Academy delivers a world-class digital learning experience.

Learn video game design, iPhone and iPad App development, Google Android app development, robotics, computer programming using Java or C+++, digital filmmaking, digital photography, website design, 3D modeling, animation and so much more.

Beginning to advanced student campers age 6-18 learn by doing with hands-on instruction from industry professionals, with real-world experience. DMA builds and develops STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) skills - many of DMA’s instructors have literally written the book on the subject that they teach. DMA Alumni include television and music producers, filmmakers, professional photographers as well as game and app developers.

At DMA, students experience life on the campus of a prestigious American university like Stanford, Harvard or UCLA (just to name a few) while making friends and learning with others who share the same interests. 2. Youth Company Chicago 2013 Wizard of Oz Camps & Teen Program - Chicago & Evanston - Beg-, intermed, and advanced-level skills in acting, singing and movement, learning from some of the Chicago's top theatre teachers. Culminates in performances of summer show, with costumes, sets, props and lighting.

Students will develop skills in acting, singing and movement. They will work with some of the best master teachers and theatre practitioners in the Chicago area. The program ends in performances of the summer show - This summer, Pre-K thru 7th grade programs culminate in performances of THE WIZARD OF OZ, and the Teen Ensemble will perform AVENUE Q (School Edition). The shows will include professionally designed costumes, sets, props and lighting.

We offer programs in Chicago (at our permanent studio home, 5340 West Lawrence Ave in Jefferson Park) and Evanston (607 Lake Street in downtown area).

Gain The Ultimate Rock and Roll Summer Camp Experience At School of Rock Elmhurst! Forget arts and crafts and morning swim lessons! This Summer, kids at School of Rock in Elmhurst will be given the ultimate summer camp experience - a chance to be immersed in Rock and Roll! School of Rock camp programs include performance, songwriting, recording, and various artist-themed focuses. Most of our camps are perfect for musicians ages 7-18 who have musical interest or musical experience. Our camps are a great introduction to the School of Rock or a perfect complement to our year-round program.

Camps require a non-refundable deposit

Students experience a hands-on atmosphere learning performance and the art of being in a rock band. Rock Performance Camp students should already have a basic understanding of their instrument and grasp of music fundamentals. Students are assigned various rock songs and engage in daily group workshops covering music theory, rehearsal techniques, performance practice, and group band rehearsals leading up to the all-ages rock show performance on the last day of camp.

Song selection are tailored to the theme of the camp and may include the following artists: ACDC, Led Zeppelin, The Ramones, Sex Pistols, The Clash, Nirvana, The Who, Black Sabbath, Metallic, Bowie, Glam, The Beatles, Maiden, Priest, The Rolling Stones!!!

Recommended Ages: 7+, Kids should have some musical experience to participate in our performance camp. Our Beginner Camps and Rock101 Camps require no previous experience.

5. School of Rock Summer Camps! - Rockboot Camp is an ideal program for students who want an immersive summer day camp experience to hone their performance expertise.

School of Rock Chicago offers multiple 1 and 2 week sessions this Summer with camp themes varying widely across the musical spectrum. Truly something for everyone. The Beatles, New Wave, Country Rock, Now Rock 2010, and more. Plus we are offering a 2 week Songwriting, Recording and Performance camp (2 sessions) where students get to record their songs in a real studio near our school. 6. DayJams Rock Music Day Camp - DayJams Rock Music Day Camp All Levels of Rockers Welcome Ages 8-15 maybe

For beginners to advanced musicians ages 8-15. If you never played an instrument, this is a fun and interactive way to get a jump-start. If you’re an experienced player, it’s your chance to study with the best musicians in town and perform in a band. Campers choose from guitar, bass, drums, keyboard, vocals or horns and learn from our professional teachers in a friendly and creative curriculum-based environment.

Camp hours are Monday-Friday 9AM-5PM. During the week campers will:

o Develop creativity
o Improve musicianship
o Gain confidence in performing
o Learn teamwork skills
o Build self-esteem
o Aspire to further develop their musical skills
o Participate in a Friday Night Concert for family and friends
o Every concert is recorded and each camper receives a CD or MP3 file at the end of the summer.

Camp Carew is located approximately 9 miles south of Carbondale, Illinois. We are located on a 60 acre site sitting on a 900 acre lake. We are surrounded by the natural settings of a wildlife refuge, national forest and a state park. This setting provides ample opportunities for a variety of activities.

Intro to Rock Camp is for aspiring rockers ages 5 to 9 years old. Working together in daily group lessons and workshops, students will be introduced to each of the core rock instruments, guitar, bass, drums, keyboard and vocals. Campers will learn some basic fundamentals of each instrument and what make it unique. If you have a budding musician who is unsure of what instrument they'd like to pursue, this camp will give them a great introduction to a variety of instruments, aid them in their decision and increase their music appreciation. No experience necessary / Some experience is okay too!

Hard Rock Performance Camp students should already have a basic understanding of their instrument and grasp of music fundamentals. Students are assigned various songs and engage in daily group workshops covering music theory, rehearsal techniques, performance practice, and group band rehearsals leading up to the all-ages rock show performance on the last day of camp!


IMPROVISATIONAL MUSIC CREATION CAMP

"Wanna get together and jam?!" This is probably the most common phrase spoken in every music community! Improvisational Music Creation student campers will experience a fun, hands-on atmosphere learning the art of impromptu music writing through daily jam sessions, exploration of seminole improv records, and more. Improvisational Music Creation Camp students should already have a basic understanding of their instrument and grasp of music fundamentals. Students will also engage in daily group workshops covering music theory, rehearsal techniques, improv playing techniques and skills building exercises. This is a must experience for any student seriously interested in pursuing music, creating their own band of original music or simply looking to become comfortable playing with other musicians.

Beatles Performance campers experience a fun, hands-on atmosphere learning the art of music performance through a setlist that pays tribute to The Beatles. Beatles Performance Camp students should already have a basic understanding of their instrument and grasp of music fundamentals. Students are assigned various songs and engage in daily group workshops covering music theory, rehearsal techniques, performance practice, and group band rehearsals leading up to the all-ages rock show performance on the last day of camp!


ROCK 101 PERFORMANCE CAMP

Rock 101 Performance Camp is for aspiring rockers ages 7 and above. Working together in daily group lessons and rehearsals, students will improve their knowledge of their instrument and learn what it’s like to be part of a band! The camp culminates in a live performance for friends and family. Students should have basic knowledge of their instrument, but no performance experience is required.


WOMEN IN ROCK : A RETROSPECTIVE

Real women Rock!! From Patti Smith to Lady Gaga, Pink to The Pretenders, women have been heavily impacting the sound, style and culture of Rock and Roll since its inception. Women in Rock: A Retrospective campers will experience a fun, hands-on atmosphere learning about female artists, the reception of their music and the obstacles they overcame on the road to success. Camp will include guest appearances by local female musicians and basic songwriting skills will also be covered for any camper interested in writing her or his own music. Not just for girls! All are welcomed!!


CHART ROCKERS PERFORMANCE CAMP

A rocked out version of Carly Rae Jepsen's hit "Call Me Maybe"? Maroon 5 with shredding guitar solos?! This and more are what campers can expect with our Chart Rockers Performance Camp! Student campers experience a fun, hands-on atmosphere learning the art of music performance through a setlist that pays tribute to modern Pop Rock songs played with a School of Rock twist! Chart Rockers Camp students should already have a basic understanding of their instrument and grasp of music fundamentals. Students are assigned various songs and engage in daily group workshops covering music theory, rehearsal techniques, performance practice, and group band rehearsals leading up to the all-ages rock show performance on the last day of camp!


SONGWRITING CAMP

Songwriting Camp Students collaborate in 2 daily group workshops: (1) songwriting & arranging and (2) rehearsal and ensemble, working towards creating and developing their own original song. Students collaborate to write their own original song compilations. The camp will culminate in an Open Mic style live performance where students will have the opportunity to perform their original songs.


EPIC ALBUMS: GREEN DAY "AMERICAN IDIOT" PERFORMANCE CAMP

In tradition with School of Rock's Epic Albums program, campers will experience a fun, hands-on atmosphere learning the art of music performance through a setlist that pays tribute to the groundbreaking Greenday album, American Idiot. This is a perfect experience for any Greenday fan as the camp will explore the making of the album including discussions on the writing and recording of the songs, as well as stories about how the record was almost never released! Campers should already have a basic understanding of their instrument and grasp of music fundamentals. Students are assigned various songs and engage in daily group workshops covering music theory, rehearsal techniques, performance practice, and group band rehearsals leading up to the all-ages rock show performance on the last day of camp!


HIP HOP THROUGHOUT THE YEARS

"Check 1, 2" Get ready to rhyme along with your favorite MC's from Sugar Hill Gang to Jay-Z. Student campers will experience a fun, hands-on atmosphere learning about the history Hip Hop music and artists. They will love learning about culture defining songs, the genre's societal impact, and more. We will also be learning about instrumentation and freestyle techniques for students interested in creating their own hip hop music.


BLOCK PARTY JAMZ FROM THE 80s PERFORMANCE CAMP AND PARTY

Run-DMC! Early Beastie Boys! Depeche Mode! This and more are what campers will get through our Block Party Jamz From The 80's Performance Camp! Student campers experience a fun, hands-on atmosphere learning the art of music performance through a setlist that pays tribute to party songs from the 80's! Block Party Jamz From The 80's students should already have a basic understanding of their instrument and grasp of music fundamentals. Students are assigned various songs and engage in daily group workshops covering music theory, rehearsal techniques, performance practice, and group band rehearsals leading up to the all-ages rock show performance and real block party on the last day of camp! Block party and performance will begin at 5pm on last day of this camp.

Summer in the Arts at Northern offers junior and senior high school students a chance to take their visual art, theatre, or jazz skills to the next level. Camps begin on Sunday and end with a show on Friday. All are on the campus of Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois. Camps are Theatre Arts Camp Junior for grades 6-8, Visual Arts Camp for grades 8-12, NIU Jazz Camp for grades 8-12, and Theatre Arts Camp Senior for grades 9-12. Camp directors and staff are NIU faculty, students, and alumni. Campers stay in newly renovated NIU residence halls and enjoy an intensive and fun week. Phone (815) 753-1450.
