Spend the summer with horses at a horseback riding camp. Learn Western and English style of riding, jumping, as well as vaulting (gymnastics on horseback). At some horse camps, participation in horse shows and competitions are common. Proper care for horses and trail riding are often integral activities at most equestrian summer camps.

Camp Letts offers activities at the Waterfront, Stables, Ropes course, Pool, Land sports, and more. We host over 30 international staff each year helping to promote our mission of diversity.

2. Rushing Winds Farm Summer Riding Camp - Free Spirit Stables at Rushing Winds Farm has safe riding rings where kids will learn riding and caring for horses through the hands-on approach. Arts and crafts as well as other horse learning activities will be part of the program.

Youth will learn to care for, tack and groom horses and ponies, ride a basic balance seat and practice a variety of warm-up exercises, play games with walk cross rails plus more for advanced riders.

At the end of the week at show will be presented to the parents so they can see the skills their children have learned.

Youth will need to bring a non-perishable lunch, a water bottle, a beach towel, and sunscreen. Closed toe shoes or boots are required.

3. Heritage Harvest Summer Camp - several one-week sessions of an equestrian day camp, for children ages 7-13, and a junior week for campers age 4 to 6

several one-week sessions of an equestrian day camp, for children ages 7-13, and a junior week for campers age 4 to 6. There is swimming, arts and crafts, riding, and lessons in barn management and horse care. A mini show is held on Friday. We have a very small camper to counselor ratio for more personal one on one attention. Transport as well as early drop off and late pick up can be arranged for a fee.

Ride 2x's a day. Learn grooming, tacking, safety, and health of horses, while meeting new friends.
Arts and crafts. Games.
Also learn about other animals. This is a working farm. There are horses, cows, sheep, goats, pigs, chickens, turkeys, guineas, dogs, cats, and rabbits.
Swimming on Thursday afternoon at the Emmittsburg pool
Show off what you learned to family and friends on Friday

Cost: $250 per session/week. Before Camp Care is available at 7am for $10.After Camp Care is available until 5:30pm for $10.Before & After Care is only available by reservation at least 1 week prior to the date.Register at least 2 weeks prior to the week chosen.A non-refundable deposit of $50 is due upon registration. Balance is due by the first day of camp.

6. Camp Olympia Summer Camp and Riding Center - Camp Olympia, established in 1958, is a high quality instructional summer sports, day camp.

Camp Olympic/ Camp Olympia has been providing a positive influence in children’s lives since 1958. Our program consists of a well balanced, unique sports program for children ages 3½ - 15. We are very proud of our reputation of offering both instructional and recreational activities which are fun and enjoyable. Some of our sports include: horseback riding, swimming, soccer, basketball, gymnastics, tennis, and track and field events, plus much more. We limit the number of campers in order to maintain a high quality program. It is our belief that involving children in a healthy sports program provides a good influence in their lives.

Our ten week summer session begins on Monday, June 22. Minimum registration is two weeks and your child may begin any Monday. After meeting your two week minimum, you may sign up for any additional weeks. The initial two weeks should be consecutive. Camp activity hours begin promptly at 9:30 am and conclude at 3:30 pm. You may drop off as early as 9:00 am and pick up as late as 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday without the extended care. Extended camper hours are available from 7:00 - 9:00 am and 4:00 - 6:00 pm. Door to door transportation is also available.

7. River Valley Ranch - River Valley Ranch is an overnight, non-denominational Christian camp for children and youth ages 7-17.

River Valley allows campers to enjoy a variety of activites including: Adventure activities, Xtreme Sports, Horseback riding, Rodeo Sports, Traditional Sports, Swimming and much more. There are three main camp facilities on the 580 acre Ranch in Carroll County Maryland. Arrowhead Woods is a program for campers between the ages of 7 and 9. Fort Roller is a camp for children between the ages of 9 and 12, and Frontier Town is a camp for students ages 12 to 17. The summer camp runs for eight weeks, with each individual week starting on Sunday afternoon and ending on Friday evening. Come enjoy a week of fun that will create lifelong memories. River Valley Ranch is a non-denominational, Bible believing organization sponsored by the Peter John Radio Fellowship, Inc.
