Adventure summer camps provide a multitude of different types of exciting activities and travel itineraries for campers to participate. Resident Camp - Travel Camp - Family Camp / Retreat - Coed - All Boys - All Girls - Newton, New-Jersey

Campers and parents may choose from our Traditional Camp programs, Environmental Trips for Challenge, Ranch Camp or our one-week Specialty Camps in sports, fine arts, sailing and windsurfing, or sailing on Lake George. We also have one week programs for girls called Arts and Hearts and a one week programs for boys called Trails and Tales. Individual choice plays a large role in the growth experience at Fairview Lake. Campers choose activities each week in addition to swimming and cabin activities. Fairview Lake YMCA sits on mile-long Fairview Lake in Northwestern New Jersey. Our 600 acres of land adjoins the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, offering us access to the Appalachian Trail, the Delaware River, unlimited hiking possibilities and breath taking views. Two waterfronts and a fleet of canoes, rowboats, sailboats and windsurfers enable us to offer a wide variety of waterfront activities. In addition, we have basketball courts, tennis courts, three athletic fields for soccer, softball and other field sports, a hockey court, a sand volleyball court, archery and riflery ranges, outdoor climbing walls and high and low ropes courses. We are committed to providing the most fun, safe, positive experience possible for your child. 3. AJ Meerwald Maritime Camps - Exciting and educational camping adventures onboard the historic oyster schooner AJ MEERWALD. Maritime campers become part of the AJ MEERWALD’S crew, sailing and living aboard an historic tall ship.

Maritime Camps; Five days, Four nights, for Ages 13 to 16

Camp #1 – June 25 – 29, 2007 – departing from Bivalve NJ, sailing up the Atlantic Coast and ending by the Statue of Liberty in Liberty State Park.

Camp #2 – July 23 – 27, 2007 – departing from Liberty State Park, sailing down the Atlantic Coast and ending in beautiful Cape May NJ.

Maritime campers become part of the AJ MEERWALD’S crew, sailing and living aboard an historic tall ship. Campers learn to raise and furl sails, coil lines, navigate and steer the ship. With deckwashes, sea chanteys, knots and standing watch, campers will truly become a tall ship sailor!

Cost $750 includes meals and all accommodations

Sailor For A Day: for Ages 10 to 16, 9:00am to 4:00pm
In Jersey City at Liberty State Park (U.S. Flag Plaza)

In Cape May NJ (Utsch’s Marina)
Mondays July 30, August 6, 13, 20 and 27

Campers hoist the sails, haul in the trawl line, learn about local marine life, dissect and oyster, navigate the ship, take the helm, tie some ‘salty’ knots, swab the deck, and more!

Cost: $60 – Bring lunch and water bottle.
