Physical Education is an integral part of a youngster's development. At the Sports Academy, a young child can have a first-hand experience by being introduced to many different sports activities on a daily basis. Various motor skills and patterns of movement developed at an early age will help to increase coordination and athletic ability as your child grows and matures. We believe and have first hand knowledge and experience that children can be taught the meaning of teamwork, cooperation, and sharing through small group instruction. With our structured environment, each child can improve his skills while developing a positive feeling of confidence and a lifelong love of sports. In each sport area, children will find an experienced, caring, patient, and knowlegeable staff member. Our low ratio of coach to player (1:7) will ensure your child's personal attention.

We believe life is an adventure and you've got to hop on rather than watch it go by. Our approach is to keep active but also knowing when to take it easy with restful days on the beach, and evenings around the campfire. Students participate in a wide variety of daytime recreational activities. When the sun goes down, we'll go to comedy clubs, dance clubs, TV tapings, crazy karaoke, baseball games, movies, bowling, mini golf and virtual reality. Trips travel throughout North America, Canada, Europe, Costa Rica, Africa and Australia. Trips range from 18-42 days, for students ages 13-17 (in coed age compatible programs) with a separate program for students ages 17-19.

Chelsea Piers, Manhattan's premier destination for youth sports, is home to 12 specialty sports camps for children and teens, ages 3 and older. While preschoolers practice ice skating and gymnastics in half-day camps, teens and tweens enjoy camps geared for the older set, including Urban Adventure Camp, Junior Golf Performance Camp, Hockey Acceleration Pre-Season Camp and Chelsea Piers BlueStreak summer training programs.
