Welcome to Game Camp USA by Convergenesis, Inc. (est. 2006)

Game Camp USA is a program specifically designed for gamers, especially those considering careers in interactive entertainment. As such, it makes extensive use of gaming PCs and consoles. But the campers do more than play video games; they also learn to create them.

Like other formats of narrative art, video games tell stories using words, images and sounds. Unlike other formats however, they also include rules, challenges and interactions. Development of these unique elements, collectively known as game mechanics, is the focus of the curriculum.

Played competitively are video games in the fighting, first-person shooter, racing and real-time strategy genres; and while participation is optional, the prizes make it well worth the effort.

Since 1999 over 130,000 students worldwide have immersed in hands-on learning to create iPhone apps, programs with C++ and Java, video games, websites, movies, 3D models, ad designs, robots, films, and photos. Beginner to advanced students ages 7-17 enroll in these fun and challenging, weeklong, day and overnight summer camps held at 60 prestigious universities nationwide (see below).

Small class sizes (max 8:1) are guaranteed and taught by adult-only instructors, with Teens, pre-Teens, and younger students separated into different classes. Students learn personalized curriculum with a small group of peers, allowing them to optimize learning and social experiences. iD Tech Camps has been at the forefront of technology learning since 1999, and there’s never been a better or more important time to engage in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) education. Accredited Continuing Education Units from Stanford or Villanova are also available to help build a portfolio for college.

Pleasant Vineyard is an inter-denominational summer camp which provides an atmosphere of love and acceptance for many children each year. It is an environment where positive relationships are developed and the love of Jesus is not only taught, but also demonstrated through fun recreational activities, outdoor education, and the lives of the camp staff.

Located SE of Richmond, Indiana, offers your child a variety of action-packed camp programs to choose from. Your child may register for a weeklong resident camp that offers up to three hours of specialty instruction each day in an area of their particular interest. Specialty camp programs to choose from include horsemanship, DVD production, computer gaming, Nascamp (go kart racing), rock climbing, paintball, paintball xtreme, drama, water skiing, nature exploration and Gorilla Garage (based on the hit TV show “Monster Garage). Now in our 29th year, National Computer Camp is America's original computer camp. The focus of NCC is 2D and 3D video game design, computer programming, digital video production, web page design, A+ and Network+ certification, and software applications including animation, Flash and graphics. An optional sports program is also available. Each week we offer all levels of programming in Basic, C++, Java, assembler, HTML, XML, and JavaScript. Campers may attend one or multi-week sessions with a continuous curriculum that is age appropriate and suitable for beginners to super advanced. The camps are ideal for both experienced and first time campers. NCC has locations in Atlanta, GA, Fairfield, CT, Cleveland, OH, and Pittsburgh, PA.
