Children will learn about farm life…where real food comes from & how it grows. Garden games and work are apart of our fun and accomplishments. They will work with large and small animals…understanding what it takes & how to care for them. We play games, have races and the teams compete against each other. Each camper rides horses each day and learns all about horse care. Campers will be a member of a Farm Family Team in which they will have responsibilities. Tap Root Summer Farm Camp is about young people taking an opportunity to get back in touch with themselves. The pace of the world slows down, they will have time to share and experience nature’s reality, every moment is NOT booked with entertainment but through being surrounded by creation and all of its purpose, we learn more about ourselves and our purpose.

Blue Point Stables’ summer camps are JAM-PACKED with some serious Equine FUN for children who Love Horses.

In addition to providing stall & pasture board, conducting training, instructing proper English & Western lessons, hosting local Open Horse Shows, catering to Birthday & Group Event Parties, BPS also proudly administers & conducts our annual Equine Summer Day & Overnight Camps! Both long Week & short Week Camps are offered.

From the new rider to the experienced rider, BPS primarily focuses on the camper’s safety, education & enjoyment of horses while creating memories that will last a lifetime. Age & gender groups are mixed & supervised. At BPS we strive to create & support a team-work environment through positive & wholesome social interaction. Often new & treasured friendships & alliances are forged by our campers during their time with us.

Each camp session begins with your camper being assigned a horse to care for. Throughout the week campers will be taught horse safety practices, proper riding equitation & equine behavior, Campers participate in a daily riding lesson under our full dressage-sized, all weather, covered Arena . Additionally, each day campers enjoy recreational riding such trail riding lessons and/or games on horseback. Stable management is another area of education that the campers participate in daily. Campers are taught equine nutrition, saddle care & how to keep a stall hygienically sound for their horse. Day campers bring sack lunches. All meals are provided for overnight campers.

At BPS camps are not just about riding horses throughout the day. Even though our camps revolve around an equine related theme, our daily activities are designed to keep your child fully occupied and actively involved. We have many fun games, enjoyable crafts & physically challenging, fun activities. Usually capping off the end of each day the campers are offered fun-time in either our supervised bounce house and/or shallow swimming. Parents often relay how easy it was to get their children to sleep after a full day of fun at one of our camps.

At the end of each camp session, campers proudly perform in a final horse presentation that they practiced throughout the week. Proud parents, relatives & friends are invited to the performance.

Camp Arrowwood is a life-changing 5 night residential Christian camp for boys and girls who are between the ages of 8-14. We are located outside Pigeon Forge with our property actually bordering the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. For Summer 2010, we will have 5 sessions starting the last week of June. In addition to our excellent Volunteer staff and ideal location, parents love us for our size. With the max capacity for each session being 48 campers, each camper gets great instruction, affirmation, attention and encouragement to help create the best camp experience possible. Our Camp is a relatively small-group camp located in Cocke County Tennessee, just outside a little community called Cosby. We are approximately 18 miles from Gatlinburg, Tennessee and situated next to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park and the Cherokee National Forest.
Campers enjoy a full adventure experience as we cave, hike, backpack, tube, canoe, rappel, rock climb, ride horses, white-water raft, and participate in outdoor and naturalist programs. Our programs are tailored to the individual skills and ability levels of the campers so everyone can enjoy the high-adventure activities. We can also keep it a little more traditional for those not seeking a thrill a minute.
Our camp counselors are outdoor enthusiasts that love working with youth. We maintain a 4 to 1 ratio of campers to counselors.
