Founded in 1905, YMCA Camp Seymour is located in Washington State on beautiful Glen Cove, only 30 minutes from Tacoma, Washington (just off scenic Carr Inlet in southern Puget Sound). Our site features 150 acres of forested hills and half a mile of saltwater shoreline on a protected estuary teeming with wildlife (including river otters, bald eagles, salmon, seals, and great blue herons). This is the setting for our year-round operation, offering programs to develop spirit, mind, and body in the YMCA tradition.

Summer Camp offers progressive, values-oriented, kid-centered programs for new and veteran campers 6-17 years old. With activities that combine exciting adventures, new friendships, and personal growth, the days we create are as unique as each of our campers. No wonder campers come back year after year.

Summer programs include Resident Camp (in-camp overnight programs for youth entering 1st-8th grade); Teen Adventure Trips (out-of-camp backpacking, sea kayaking or caravan adventures for youth entering 8th-12th grade) that develop outdoor, leadership and group living skills; and Teen Leadership Programs (for youth entering 9th -12th grade) that develop group leadership, membership, and interpersonal skills.

Family Camps let you bring your family here to experience the magic of camp together! Come share in the fun at YMCA Camp Seymour. Our program includes a variety of activities led and supervised by certified, well-trained staff, including campfires, canoeing, climbing wall and more. The whole family can join in, or you can take some time on your own. It's up to you!

Conferences and Retreats are held here often - our site is ideal for day or overnight use. Close enough for convenience, far enough to feel like wilderness, we offer the amenities of home for group rental from late August to mid-June. We promote opportunities for parents and children to build healthy relationships through the many Parent-Child (Y-Guides) groups that visit us.

Outdoor and Environmental Education adds a new dimension to outdoor education for youth, improving outdoor skills and environmental awareness. Going to school in an outdoor classroom is an experience students will treasure. We can host your school for just a day or an entire week.

All programs are accredited by the American Camp Association.

OUTDOOR FUN AND ADVENTURE await your children, ages 7-12, this Summer, 2014, at Raab Park in Poulsbo, Washington.

This summer, 2014, Janet McKibben, a K-8 Certified Teacher and enthusiastic outdoor adventurer, is holding her fourth year of day camp for two week long sessions:

July 7-10 and July 21 - 24.

Each week a small group of children, ages 7-12, will spend their days hiking and exploring outdoors in three areas in and around Raab Park in Poulsbo, Washington. These areas are composed of wooded trails, grassy fields and forest streams. Informal nature lessons and games are presented throughout the week based on a dally theme: plants, animals, water and soil. Campers learn about nature through observations and hands-on trail activities and games, by participating in nature-related programs, including many "nature art" projects, and by simply exploring and playing in the beautiful natural environment. There will also be free choice opportunities in the park to play team building and group games(klck-the-can, camouflage, and tail tag are camp favorites), to play on the playground, and visit the Raab Park Children's Garden. On the final afternoon the kids will enjoy getting their faces painted by Ms. McKibben, a professional artist and face painter.

Day Camps run for four days per week from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Cost is $155.00 per week. If you are interested, please request a registration packet via email. Hope to see you at camp!
