Since 1950, the Idyllwild Arts Summer Program, formerly known as ISOMATA, has offered intensive workshops in dance, film/video, music, theater, visual arts and writing to students of all ages and abilities. Nestled at the mile-high level in the San Jacinto Mountains of Southern California, the 205-acre Idyllwild Arts campus is located in one of the most spectacular natural settings in the West.
Specific course offerings are organized into art centers according to age. Courses are available to boarding and day students.
Children's Center (ages 5-12): day programs for children 5-8; one- and two-week programs in dance, film, music, theater, visual arts and creative writing for ages 9-12.
Junior Artist's Center (ages 11-13): two-week programs in all of the visual and performing arts.
Youth Arts Center (ages 14-18): two- and three-week programs in all of the visual and performing arts.
Adult Arts Center (ages 19+):two-day to five-day workshops in visual arts and creative writing.
Family Camp: a one-week arts intensive program for the whole family.
