Riding:
The riding program at GROW caters to all levels of experience. Campers can spend their morning or afternoon learning basic riding and horsemanship skills. They will develop and strengthen fundamental skills in the riding program which focuses on proper and safe riding techniques. Advanced Riders can chooses to learn horse packing, and horse care on extended back country trips.
Backpacking:
Imagine hiking through an alpine meadow with the sweet smell of wildflowers lingering in the air. Around the bend, flowers like lupine, balsam-root, and Indian paintbrush color the ground. Your trip takes you to alpine lakes, which reflect the most magnificent peak you have ever seen, like glass. In the next few days you will see experience great challenges and great rewards, see spectacular views, cook all of your own meals, sleep under the stars, and develop lifelong friendships .
Pack Trips:
Some areas of the Bridger Wilderness are only accessible by foot or horseback. Campers will have the opportunity to explore these areas on scenic pack trips into the Bridger Wilderness or Bridger - Teton National Forest areas. Experienced Camp staff, who are specially trained lead the pack trips and carry all of the food and supplies on a string of pack horses or mules. Campers ride in on horseback through forests and meadows, across rivers and along ridges, to the campsite where they will live for the next few days.
Fishing:
Some of the best wild Trout fishing in North America is located in Sublette County, Wyoming. Our program allows children to choose between ether: fly fishing, spin fishing, or both! Our fishing areas includes the lakes and rivers inside of the Bridger-Teton National Forest and Wilderness areas, the legendary Green and New Fork Rivers, as well as our private trout ponds; you will be sure to catch Rainbow, Cutthroat, Golden, Brown and Brooke trout of epic proportions!
In Camp:
When not out hiking across alpine meadows or riding through crystal streams, the Green River Outreach for Wilderness Foundation offers various in-camp activities to excite its campers. All activities at camp are not only fun, but strive to educate campers in an exciting and innovative manner, such as: canoeing, rock climbing, archery, blacksmithing, arts and crafts, as well as camp games and special events. Safety is our priority and all activities are run with that in mind.
