Code Galaxy is offering 5 different summer camp courses this year. They are all 1 week long and are available several times over the course of 9 weeks, starting June 6, 2022. Here is a brief summary of each of them.
Python Coding: 11-15 years
This course is designed for any student curious about the power of computers and technology.T he course introduces the basics of Python programming language and computer science by programming a series of fun games and rewarding code challenges.In addition to Python syntax and computer science concepts, students also learn to think about problems logically and solve them systematically.
Minecraft game Development: 8-12 years
Minecraft is a 3D game about collecting, crafting, and building with blocks.
In this course, students will learn how to create items and code for the behavior of the items, to create a series of events with custom commands, and to make a collection of mods that depends on and interact with each other using blocks-based programming. After this course students will be able to create projects consisting of multiple elements. Students can code their own blocks, items, structures and buildings in minecraft, create a series of interactive events to make some fun features.
Creating and Publishing Roblox Games: 8-12 years
Roblox is a massive multiplayer online game creation platform for users to design and develop their own games as well as to play games created by others. In this course, students will create (design and code) their own beautiful-looking Roblox games. They will be introduced to a beginner-friendly platform called Code Kingdoms. Code Kingdoms is a platform in which students can learn to code and create their own Roblox games. Through programming Roblox games, they will be able to learn different computer science concepts such as events and methods.
Young Coders: Games and Animations with Scratch: 7-10 years
In this course, students will create their own games and animations with imagination and creativity, and let their friends and family play the games. Students will learn how to use Scratch (a block-based coding program with colors and characters) to create games, stories and animations. The course helps students build their coding foundation and explore the universe of coding.
3D Design and Modeling: 8-13 years
Have you ever thought of creating 3D models to be 3D printed? Join us in this course to get introduced to the world of 3D modeling with Tinkercad. It is a fun, easy to use, web-based 3D modeling and design application. In this course, you will create simple 3D models and you’ll keep the files of your creations to be 3D printed at any time and anywhere you can find a 3D printer. No design experience required.
