Welcome to a summer of creativity at the Summer Art Academy! We begin our 11th summer of providing children with engaging and unique workshops in the arts.

This summer Art Academy will run three camps; Clay Camp, Art Camp and Cooking Camp. Each camp provides a dynamic, nurturing environment that encourages children to discover their unique, creative talents through a variety of hands-on workshops.

For families who choose our summer arts program, our mission is to provide their children with enrichment and experiences not available during the regular academic year within a framework that promotes self-expression, allows them to freely explore, discover and ultimately gain new skills and confidence that will encourage them to further explore the diversity of their world.

With a great staff, hard work, emphasis on service, attention to detail, and an understanding of what children enjoy, the Summer Art Academy's camp programs are a wonderful alternative to traditional summer camps and a unique place to spend the summer.

Pali Overnight Adventures is located in one of the worlds' most beautiful settings, providing campers remarkable activities on our 74-acre private site. SECRET AGENT CAMP (Ages 9-16)
As a Pali agent, you will learn stealth tactics, undercover maneuvers and enjoy exhilarating and fun activities including spy games, rapid-fire paintball challenges, high ropes course acrobatics, and little-known martial arts techniques like hip throws, axe kicks, flying side kicks, and the mummy twist. It’s sure to get your heart pumping! Then, test your strength and stamina on one of five themed paintball fields including The Wild West, The Junkyard, President’s Field, High Noon, The Jungle, and the inflatable speedball field.
Our SPEC OPS TWO WEEK PROGRAM OFFERS: Deep Creek Overnight hike, Paintball! Laser tag! Paintball! Rapid room entry and room-clearing methods followed by covert missions around camp in preparation for your ultimate objective. Swat tactics and stealth techniques will be employed during longer and bigger paintball and laser tag battles. Once you have mastered these skills and achieved these outcomes, your advanced training will include night time laser-tag combat drills and precision target shooting while zip lining or riding on the back of an ATV. Your secret agent training at Pali will culminate with an overnight camping trip including a recon and rescue mission to prove you and your teammates can complete mission impossible and save the world! If you love Paintball, this is your specialty!
HOLLYWOOD STUNT CAMP (Ages 9-16)
Welcome to Hollywood Stunt Camp! The place where you will learn exciting high falls, such as headers, and back-falls, as well as hand-to-hand combat, shoulder rolls, and how to choreograph your own fight scene. All of this will be done with a professional stuntman in a safe and fun environment.
ROCK STAR CAMP
Write, record, and produce your very own song or rock out to your own cover version of your favorite song. Work with our staff of songwriters and professional musicians to live the dream. You will learn the basics of songwriting, improve your singing skills, and practice playing instruments including keyboard, drums, guitar, and bass. Then prepare for the showcase where you'll perform live in front of the entire camp! When you go home, you'll take with you a CD of your very own music to share with family and friends!
In our 2 Week Program you’ll have more time for songwriting, instrument instruction and recording so you can really create a hit! Learn stage skills and the keys to creating a powerful stage presence. Rock Star Camp will teach you what it takes to make it in the industry so you leave Pali ready to be the next rock star! If that isn't enough, all Rock Star campers who stay for week two will go home with their very own Music Video to share with friends and family.
FILM INSTITUTE
"Lights, Camera, ACTION!" If what you really want to do is direct, you'll get your chance at the Pali Film Institute.
Professional directors teach storyboarding, shot list creation, casting, shooting, and editing. Spend a day learning the basic techniques of film direction, and expand your cinematography and editing skills, plus learn how to work with actors! Using our state of the art computers with Green Screen technology, After Effects and Final Cut Pro programs, make the impossible, possible!
After all the hard work is done, screen your original masterpiece at the Pali Film Festival and take home a personalized DVD to showcase your work to family, friends and future producers! So, if you want to make a screwball comedy, action spectacular or fright fest then Pali Film Institute is for you!

Acting Academy
From television to film to Shakespeare, campers in the Acting Academy will be taught the basics of acting and encouraged to explore many different genres including classical drama, comedy, and action. During week one, you will work on scenes, monologues, improvisations, character analysis, and theatre games. You will gain confidence while performing in front of an audience and boost your self-esteem as you receive support from your fellow actors! You will also learn techniques taught to the pros, like script reading and auditioning, from the pros themselves. Then showcase your skills by performing movie scenes and monologues. If you have ever dreamed at making it on the stage, this is the specialty for you.

EXTREME ACTION ADVENTURE
If danger is your middle name, and safety is your Mom's, then this is the specialty for you! From start to finish, under the expert supervision of our highly trained staff, you will experience some of the most thrilling, unique, action-packed, dirt-filled, adrenaline-pumped activities on the planet.
Fly through the air on our the 227' long zip line, scale to new heights on our 53' giant rock wall, race ATVs, go-karts, dune buggies and minibikes. Experience more heart-pounding action on our over 10 acres of ever popular paintball fields!

Then take a spin on our awesome skate park, Shred City. Play "skate" with other skateboarders one rails, pipes and boxes. Need a break? Not a chance! Test out your tactical skills with laser tag and then take an awesome mountain biking ride through the forest.
When you are ready for more action, race around in giant inflatable hamster balls, maneuvering through the ultimate challenge obstacle course. Campers will even have the chance to ride a giant slip n' slide down the side of a hill, only to be catapulted by a ramp into Pop's Pond below.

So roll up your sleeves, feel the dough between your fingers and get ready to slice and dice at the Art Academy's savory summer program for kids and teens simply called, Cooking Camp!

From Blueberry Muffins to Cheese Raviolis, Quiche to Double Chocolate Fudge, our hands-on workshops focus on cooking from scratch using fresh, seasonal ingredients and time tested culinary techniques.

Whether your child is interested in becoming a head chef or simply a maker of a mean pesto sauce, Cooking Camp is a wonderful opportunity to expose your child to new foods that encourage them to expand their culinary palates and can serve as an ideal entree to culinary pursuits! We hope you'll join us this summer. Remember, cooking lessons are lessons for life.

Children learn the traditional Japanese martial art Aikido in a safe and supportive atmosphere. Training includes instruction in the Art of Falling; partner techniques, including projections and immobilizations; building awareness, focus and confidence. Afternoon classes in Japanese arts and crafts, cooking, science, games and stories. Field trips Tuesday and Thursday to local gardens, beaches or hiking trails, with focus on preserving and protecting our environment. 9 am -3 pm Monday-Friday. Before and aftercare available. Aikido is a non-violent, non-competitive martial art known as the Art of Peace, emphasizing body movement, position and timing to get out of the way of an attack, and to defend oneself without harming an aggressor.

Interested in providing your child with important life skills? Will your child be able to make healthy food choices? Can he or she make a healthy snack or meal for him or herself? We’ve developed a year round program for children ages 7-18. Classes are available after school during the school year as well as week long camps during the summer. Please email us about our 2010 Summer Camp sessions for June, July and August. Themes are All-American, Italian or Asian Persuasion. Kids will work in the kitchen and prepare a meal they will enjoy themselves. Recipes included. Guests are welcome to join on the final day for a fee.

Global Groove is a unique CULTURAL ADVENTURE CAMP that exposes kids to the most exciting cultural arts, music, dance and culinary traditions as a means of self discovery. This is a place where campers are encouraged to take new risks and ultimately leave with an enhanced sense of self and a new community of friends. We offer activities like Capoeira, Flamenco, African Drumming, Didjirdu, Surfing, Swimming, Guitar, Acting and much more. We have a great Carnival every couple weeks to show off what we are learning, so stop by the check us out or try out a day of this amazing summer experience for free!!! Summer is one of the best times to experience Applied Scholastics Academy San Marcos. Not only do we offer fun camp activities such as arts and crafts, cooking, enjoying our huge playing field, swimming, science projects, beach trips, field trips and much more, but we also offer a variety of academic enrichment programs as well. Camp is a great place for children to sharpen skills, advance in exsisting studies or explore new interests.
