Dragonfly Kids is seeking a strategic, relationship-driven Vice President of Business Development - Camp to lead our efforts in building and expanding partnerships with summer camps across the U.S. As we bring international counselors to the U.S. through cultural exchange programs, you'll be the driving force connecting camps with incredible global talent.
This is a flexible role, ideal for a current or former Camp Director who wants to stay engaged with the industry year-round while helping shape a new model for international exchange. You'll work closely with our Director of Exchange Programs, who manages logistics, compliance, and cultural exchange operations.
What You'll Do
Lead Business Development Strategy: Identify and engage potential partner camps to host international counselors.
Build & Maintain Relationships: Serve as the main point of contact for camp partners-understanding their staffing needs and ensuring a strong cultural fit.
Serve as Industry Connector: Represent Dragonfly Kids at ACA conferences, camp fairs, and other youth development forums.
Collaborate Across Teams: Work hand-in-hand with the Director of Exchange Programs, ensuring camp partnerships align with visa regulations and program timelines.
Support Program Design: Offer strategic input on counselor training, onboarding, and cultural readiness-drawing on your camp experience.
Stay Engaged Seasonally: Maintain flexible involvement, with greater engagement in recruitment/off-season and potential support during peak camp months.
What We're Looking For
5-10+ years of experience in summer camp leadership (e.g., Camp Director, Program Director, or similar)
Deep understanding of camp operations, hiring needs, and seasonal staffing challenges
Strong network in the U.S. camp industry and familiarity with ACA or similar associations
Confident communicator with excellent relationship-building and partnership skills
Self-starter who can work independently while collaborating across a distributed team
Passionate about the mission of youth development and international cultural exchange

Dragonfly Kids is looking for an experienced and mission-driven Vice President of Camp Programs to lead the development and management of our national summer camp initiative for international counselors. If you've spent your summers leading camps, mentoring staff, and creating unforgettable moments for kids, this role is your next big adventure.
Dragonfly Kids will support international camp counselors coming to the United States to participate in cultural exchange programming on the J-1 visa. We're building a program that blends traditional camp spirit with fresh, globally-minded experiences-and we need a leader who gets camp culture from the inside out.
What You'll Do:
Lead the strategic planning and execution of all camp programs
Build and maintain strong partnerships with general and specialty camps across the U.S.
Oversee budgets, operations, and program outcomes
Recruit, hire, and mentor seasonal and year-round staff
Oversee training, safety protocols, and team development
Plan logistics and operations for multi-site programs
Evaluate program quality and counselor satisfaction to drive continuous improvement
Learn the U.S. Department of Health SEVIS system to support program administration and coordination with the Department of State
Represent Dragonfly Kids at camp fairs, conferences, and partner events
What We're Looking For:
7+ years of camp leadership experience (Camp Director, Program Director, or higher)
Proven success running programs and managing seasonal teams
Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
Experience with staff hiring, training, and supervision
Creative problem solver and strategic thinker
A deep love for camp, kids, and creating positive memories
Flexible, proactive, and excited to build a program from the ground up
