Create & Play Camp
This full day camp combines creative learning with team based play as campers create their own games from scratch or modify and extend existing popular video games in a networked environment.

The morning is spent using imagination and critical thinking skills as campers conceive, plan, discuss and create a video game of their own design. They also mold popular video games with their own modifications then share and play them with others.

Our tools are age appropriate and require no previous experience. No traditional, tedious “programming” is done. Our instructors are gamers who have experience “modding” games and working with children and teens and guide campers each step of the way.

Campers spend the afternoon participating in a variety of fun, organized activities such as cat and mouse, capture the flag and headquarters. Often they use this time to enhance or complete their morning’s work.

Xbox 360 and PC gaming stations for each camper provide familiar platforms to explore the latest tools and games at their own pace. Camper to instructor ratios are kept at a very low 8:1, allowing each campers to receive adequate attention throughout the day. Working individually and in teams, their creative work can be shared and played immediately. It’s a social and fulfilling learning experience without the drudgery of a classroom.

Only two weeks of Create & Play camps are currently scheduled and they’ll fill quickly. If you are interested in this camp, sign up soon to guarantee your spot.

Gamer Camp
Gamer Camp is offered as half and full day sessions with the focus on planning, teamwork, sharing and sportsmanship. And lots of fun!

Using Xbox, PC and Wii gaming stations, competitions are organized and supervised providing the basis for positive social interaction. Fun competitions include racing, strategy and action games. We deliberately avoid games that feature gratuitous violence and where possible, configure settings or obtain modifications to games to reduce content that doesn’t enhance gameplay. That said, team based play often involves one team dominating another and so some titles involve conflict themes. If you have a concern about an individual game or a particular type of content please contact us and we’ll be happy to address your concerns and discuss the type of content to be available during camp.

Gamer Camp provides a competitive, yet friendly environment – not unlike the interaction they would have at a sports camp. Campers make new friends by playing with like-minded kids on a level they don’t get when only playing at home or online. The benefits of any team based activity, including debate team, science fair teams and others, are the same as traditional sports – like football. Video games simply provide another medium for that team experience.
