Since 1999 over 130,000 students worldwide have immersed in hands-on learning to create iPhone apps, programs with C++ and Java, video games, websites, movies, 3D models, ad designs, robots, films, and photos. 3. Moon Base Summer Camps - Moon Base Summer Camps dynamically encourage children to explore our planet and outer space with a range of exciting hands-on activities and interaction with real scientists.

Join us for the adventure of a lifetime! Moon Base Summer Camps are one-week coed day camps that introduce children to space exploration in a dynamic and tangible environment. Spend a week training like an astronaut to create the first permanent outpost off our home planet! Learn all about what it takes to live and work in space and on the Moon.
Wear spacesuits and MoonShoes, test meteor impact craters, work with real NASA scientists, design your own Lunar habitat, grown your own space plants, run simulations in Mission Control and the Moon Base, and launch rockets!
Camp staff are scientists and engineers with experience in a wide variety of space-related science and engineering fields. NASA engineers and aerospace industry professionals offer inspirational guest instruction. Appropriate for grades 3-5 or 6-8, camps are located in the northern Virginia, central Maryland, and DC areas.

4. Washington College Geospatial Discoveries Summer Program - Geospatial technology is used in many fields. This Program focuses on the use of geospatial technologies in the fields of 3D Visualization and Virtual World Development, Crime Analysis and Mapping, and Marine Exploration and Discovery.

Washington College’s Geospatial Discoveries Summer Program offers a unique summer experience for kids in grades 7-12. Program attendees will spend one week at Washington College exploring many areas of this growing field. In combination with GIS, participants will also explore the depths of the Chester River, and create a 3D replica of a building or some other feature in a virtual world. By the end of the week participants will walk away with an understanding of geospatial technologies and how they are used in everyday life.

Camp runs from June 24th to June 30th, 2012.
