Welcome to Precollege Summer Camps at NYU's School of Continuing and Professional Studies (SCPS). Students find themselves in the ideal environment to make lasting connections with industry professionals and to form friendships with interesting peers from all over the world.

NYU-SCPS Summer Camps are designed to provide a deeply enriching, intense period of study in subjects that fire the imagination while instilling confidence and pride by engaging fully in the creative process, from taking on artistic challenges to thoughtful and strategic problem solving. With Filmmakers Ink, aspiring young filmmakers will gain knowledge in every aspect of filmmaking. We offer film camps in Scarsdale NY, Harrison NY and NYC. The first week will focus on screenwriting with the Filmmakers Ink staff guiding your child through the script development process as they write their own screenplay. This workshop will provide participants a perfect environment, where through hands on experience, they learn the techniques of video production as a method of self expression while in a diverse environment with other participants from different cultural backgrounds. In 2009, given the theme, "Japan in New York", each group will explore aspects of Japanese culture and business in New York, which will afford participants the opportunity to learn about cross-cultural communication and diverse aspects of New York. Participants will take English as a Second Language (ESL) or Japanese as a Second Language (JSL) classes. They will learn their target languages and have opportunities to use those languages through various activities and dormitory life. There will also be many activities lined up, such as computer music creation, dance, cross-cultural events, field trips to Broadway musical, etc.
