We bring together young people for four weeks of musical study and performance in a supportive community. We welcome band, orchestra, choir, composition, piano, and pipe organ students completing grades 8–12 from all faith backgrounds to join us.

The Orchestra Project is a yearly summer music camp held on the campus of VCU. It is a joint venture between the Richmond Symphony and the Music Department of Virginia Commonwealth University. The Orchestra Project features two camps that run simultaneously: String Odyssey for developing string players with 2 years experience, and String Intensive for the advanced string player.
Our camp balances challenging musical training to string and piano musicians ages 8-18 with enriching group activities ranging from kayaking, campfires, environmental education, hiking and arts and crafts.
Britt offers a nationally recognized String Quartet Academy to facilitate the development of young musicians’ performance skills with superb master teachers, and a Rock Camp to foster the enjoyment of making music with peers.
Learn and perform the folk music of Ireland, Scotland, England, Wales, and more. Students practice and perform in both small groups and with the entire ensemble. Other activities include dancing, singing, and crafts.
High school students from around the nation join in this intense and exciting week of music-making under the direction of the internationally acclaimed St. Olaf College music faculty.
The Summer Music Institutes provide multifaceted opportunities for young musicians’ artistic growth. Through intensive institutes focused on Harp, Chamber Music, Guitar, Choir, Violin and Piano, SMI offers unique music experiences.
